This has been my new found love! Thanks to Chitvish and numerous food bloggers, I have been hooked on to this. I do make cakes, but some times ( twice till now), it has been a disaster! Hi Archana, Cultural academy in Santhome conducts a course in baking and variety of other courses. check out with them,they can have a summer batch too. There are also a number of short term baking classes which are advertised in the local news papers. regards Deepa
Thanks Deeps! I spoke with them. The classes are starting by mid june and are on for 20 days. Each class is 2 and half hours ( 10.00 -12.30) and the fees is Rs.4500. There are a total of 40 cakes that will be taught. I have two problems here. One, the timings ( I work!) and two the cost. I find it too expensive. Is this the normal price? Any ideas? I stay at Velachery. I am a regular reader of these local papers, and somehow I dont see a baking class at all! Cheers Archana
hi Archana, I suggested u cultural academy only because they are very professional .charges wise i feel they are ok....cos any class would work out to rs200 per day. check out in chennai culinary institute in alwarpet.jus check out with latha mani rajkumar...if she teaches baking too. i feel you want weekend classes.i will let u know if there is any happening in adyar which is relatively close for u. Rajalakshmi in kasturiba nagar adyar who teaches crafts teaches baking also..like for 2 days and she will teach 4 items per day. I guess u r an expert in chocolate making.....so some professional training in baking will be wonderful.....will surely keep u posted in case of weekend classes. have fun Deepa
