    Hi Ramya
are you consulting Dr.Uma there ?
I know a seethapathy clinic in Royapettah/mandaveli area. Are you talking about that.

My mother got Hernia operation done there. It was neat, dr is excellent, Nurses are very friendly. the only disadvantage is for the person who is looking after the patient. Since either me or my dad were with my mom , we dint get any good food nearby. My relations had to come over to provide food for me.

The hospital is very homely atmosphere. As i mentioned nearby food/hotels/canteen was the only problem. It was good.
Dr uma is also very sweet, and patient. I usually pester her with loads of questions, and she has been very good to me.

    Good Luck .

    Hi Ramya,

May I ask you for what are u planning to go to seethapathy clinic? If it is you are looking for your pregnancy and delivery, as for as I have heard (comments from other doctors as well), Dr Uma is one of the best in that. I am also planning to go to her for my delivery. The environment was also homely but I havent gone there for any treatment and hence cannot talk about the nurses and service there.

    Thanks,
    vidyaa

    Hi Ranchu, Thank you.
Vidya, Yes, I am planning to consult Dr. Uma for my pregnancy and delivery. I have been to the clinic to visit my friend & her baby, but that was 1.5 years back, I do not remember much :(

    Hi Ramya,

Then no worries.. Just go ahead with the doctor and the clinic... Out of curiosity I would like to ask you, how many months are you now?

    Love,
    Vidyaa

Hey, I had my now 2 years and 4 month old there. I will try and be objective about my experience. Na, I simply love Dr Uma. My child was premature and my labour not the best experience because of that. But I had my child vaginally, Dr Uma delivered the baby at 11.45 pm without pushing for c-section. IWhen I see c-sections pushed on my friends I realise I was so lucky!
The neonatologist/paed they have on call is among the best in the city. The facilities are clean - to quote a friend of mine who had a surgery there, "clean enough eat off of".
The stand in for Dr Uma is equally good. They have an excellent child birth educator Rekha Sudarshan - her child birth class so helped me prepare for my preterm labour.
The downsides: they have a nursery, but not a full-fledged NICU. When there are emergencies, neonates with medical issues, they tend to rely on bigger hospitals around St Isabel, Childs Trust, Apollo. That's one thing you will have to talk before hand to see what needs to be done.
They do not have an in-house anaesthecian, but one is available on call.
    Overall, a great place!

    Hey Tikka,

Thank you so much for your inputs.. I too heard about Dr Uma Ram from so many people and finally after my third month went to her for the checkup.... I have gone twice there for the monthly checkup as of now... and for the first time I consulted Uma and the second time they asked me to consult Dr. Shobana Mahadevan. As of now, I liked the environment and would definitely suggest this to others.

    Love,
    Vidyaa

I had both my deliveries in Seethapathy Nursing home. The nurses, helpers every one is very friendly. Dr. Uma Ram is a person who have a constant smile on her face and who is always ready to answer any type of questions you ask her. I had lots of questions during both my pregnancy.

My first one was an emergency c-section as daughter had troubles when my pain intensified. But as there was no problem with me Dr. Uma waited for normal delivery for my second. Infact I got admitted once and then had to go back and then come again, even after me telling her if nothing is happenning pls do me a c-section, she disagreed and said that she will wait for normal.

The rooms are well maintained and are clean and the rates are also very reasonable. There is a scan centre and a canteen also. The food for the patients are delivered directly to the room, and the person who are staying with the patients have to go and get the food.

I am sure you will have a great delivery under the able guidance of Dr. Uma. You have made the right choice, thats what I can say.
