Ladies,I would like to know about kid-friendly vacation spots around OH-within a radius of 300 miles .I am specifically looking at Washington DC,or maybe WV,Kentucky ..We would like to travel by road and maybe 3 days total. Are there any amusement parks or such things in these places which a 6 yr old will enjoy?

    Re: Sightseeing in Washington DC

We have zero-ed in on Washington DC.We will be driving down in time for the Cherry Blossom festival.

Ladies, pls help-can we take a tour ourselves to see this festival or should we go only through chartered tour groups?

Also, how far is Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Washington D.C?Is this a tourist attraction worth seeing?

    Hi Sunitha,

There is a Six Flags amusement park in Kentucky...check their website for other locations.Chesapeake Bay is 5-6 hrs drive from D.C.. (check google maps). Those who can do water activities can enjoy more at the Va beach or else you can go for the dolphin watch & aquarium.

    Regards,
    ManuuRaghuu

    Thanks a lot,Manu.

The map says Chesapeake Bay bridge is about 100 miles from DC...so shouldn't it take just 1 1/2 hrs drive? How far is VA beach from DC?

Sunitha, if your kid likes or plays baseball, I would strongly recommend the Louisville Slugger Museum in Kentucky. They make baseball bats there, in fact they are the crafters of the official bat of Major League baseball and you can actually take a tour of their plant.

Another place worth visiting is Kentucky Down Under. It's an australian themed park and also has a cave. They have Kangaroos and Wallabies to pet. Fun place to take kids to.

I'll get back to you on some more places appropriate for a 6 year old.

    Raj

P.S- If you are coming to Louisville, let me know, I would love to meet you guys. :)
