    Dear Krishnamma,

I am back again..thanks, I am making dosas and idlis often now a days.

But now, I have a box full of 'salty' rawa kichdi. I would like to know how to use it up. I prep it yday and I feel bad I used a little more than usual salt. Do you have any idea as to how to make it edible. I dont feel good when I have to throw food away in the trash.

    Thanks
    Poornima.

    Sorry sorry, :hide: Poorinima,

I missed your post and posted answer for other posts.

To reduce salt, generally we can do two things, one is increase hot ( chilly) and sour ( puli) in that dish. and another one is increase the dish by adding something in that.

For this you can add cooked veg. (ofcourse without salt) in that uppma and reheat it in cooker. and mix well.

Or in a pan, make seasoning with green chilly or red chilly and pour some tamarind water in it. bring it to a boil and add your uppma and mix well. let it cook for a while. Then remove from the fire.

is it ok? HOW MUCH QUANTITY YOU ARE HAVING? If it is less, you can make sand witch or bondas with that.

Or just have it with curd or thick buttermilk. :hide:

Please tell me what you did with that? :coffee eagerly for your reply.
