It sure is cute, Sindhu. :)

We set our Kissmas Tee up this Sunday, after Riya went to bed. I always enjoy hanging the ornaments on our tree. It's like a walk down the memory lane since we have an ornament ( given one by family) marking an important point in our lives, like when Riya was born, or when we bought our house, or the ones that hubby and I exchanged on our first Christmas together. Needless to say, I am in full Christmas spirit already.

Haven't decided on what I am going to bake this year for gifts though. Hey Latha, have you ever baked mini loafs? I saw these neat mini loaf tins in one of the stores. Last year I baked assoreted cookies and gave them away in cookie tins. I am thinking of doing something different this year.

Oh, and forgot to mention - I am floating in seventh heaven today... had a rough night with Riya so I told hubby that I want to sleep in this morning. Riya was also sleeping. Hubby got up for his morning work out, made coffee and put away all the clean dishes from the dishwasher for me. :) He usually doesn't do things like that without asking! I was really grateful for his help.

    hey girls,

both A tucked into bed, DH reading so i'm on my laptop:). I called up the mom organising christmas party to say we'll not be there. I'm a little sad but i first want my boy to get alright so we can do a nice holiday this year. When I went to the park to pick him up he was curled up in the bench and his teacher was stroking him... such an emotional sight for me! And on our way back he refused to sit in the tram because he had soiled his undies. Despite all that he insisted on explaining his case to the doctor himself:) i gave him lots to drink, he had 1/2 toast, some oats kanji and now sleeping. DH and me felt we made a mistake sending him to school on Tuesday. After the fever episode on week-end we must have let him stay home until today. And that too when we know this viral thing does a round this time of the year.

anyways... he's building up his immune system:)

    Krithika,

An update on the therapist's visit... she was supposed to observe him at the school tomorrow but now we have to postpone this again. I had called her to say A is ill. An assistant of her (she teaches at the Montessori institute here I think!) is training at A's pre-school. She said she had asked the assistant to take notes since the time we spoke. So now she doesn't need observation times and would simply talk to me and DH on what we could do/change. That would be next week.

    Raj,

I have copied down a mini-loaf recipe from a book that I borrowed from the library (all recipes on mini-scale). I'll PM this week-end. It is a Tiroler Chocolate-nut loaf. Actually there is another one that is very festive with nuts, dry fruits, no butter and uses sugar and honey. I am thinking that could also be done in a loaf tin. I'll send you that recipe as well.. i'll try that out in a loaf form when time permits.

Okay little A is up... take care everyone!

He he. You guys are funny. DH had lived by himself for close to 10 years before we met, so he is quite house-trained. His sambar sadams are the best in the whole wide world - now that I have some intolerance to thoor dhal, he is making them with moong dhal. Nothing tastes quite as good as that on a rainy day.
The only thing I dont like doing behind him is cleaning the washbasin after he shaves! The foam and scum, yikes. Actually, I count myself very lucky. I had a tummy upset and am quite drained, DH did everything this morning (everything!) and is now napping with K, taking half a day off to give me some rest (and yet I crib about him :hide:)
Mangai, Do you have iron vessels at home? Cooking in them apparently also boosts iron levels in the body.
Latha, I really wish there were some backup systems like this here. I am a little anxious about K given his early birth and his rough first 24 hours - I dont know if it is a case of crossing the bridge before coming to it. DH has prevailed in the homeschool vs regular school argument we had. So I am quite troubled. There are a couple of schools that have impressed us, I am hoping we get admission to either, mainly because they have an inclusive education system and have special educators who can identify learning difficulties. After reading what Shanthi posted in another thread, I am that much more anxious. If any school were to call my child "slow", the will see mama tiger unleashed. :crazy
For K's birthday, we have decided to do a small, intimate brunch of grandparents and great grandparents. I am going to attempt a carrot cake tonight. If it turns out well, then bake a batch tomorrow. I am still searching for a vegan topping/cream. Any ideas (unfortunately, no soy products either)

Latha - ((hugs)) to Aniish. Hope he feels better soon.

Krithi - Did your cake turn out well? Your Dh sounds like a really nice guy...

Raj - A lie-in is bliss isnt it? I wait for Sunday mornings for my turn :)

Sindhu - P sounds so cute - its such fun when they say new things. Are you having a tree at home?

Mangai - Keep it up Iron lady - you'll be back to normal in no time. Its stopped raining here btw.

Welcome Mayaworld and welcome back Amitha!

Sylvia - a flashlight exam is no good. Even with an otoscope its really hard to see anything in there :) A second opinion perhaps?

A gets more mischeivous every day. Logging in to IL is really becoming difficult. And we are still at 2 naps - dread to think of the day he will drop 1.
