Recently my co sister is talking about buying cold pressed oil( chekku ennai) in USA.
    Groundnut oil - 5 Ltr = 34$, sesame oil 5 ltr = 49$.
    1. Is it worth to buy? It is 3 times pricey than my regular oil.
    2. Does t has any health benefit?
    3. How long you are using it?

You can check on YouTube for Bobby Parrish videos he post for healthy cooking oil, healthy food snack and what not to buy. But yes it's really worth buying cold pressed oil if you are more health conscious.

I am using cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil and Olive oil for cooking. For frying I use canola oil.

I buy Napa Valley Naturals cold-pressed oils. They have sesame oil (nalla ennai). I would look for local producers. Places like Whole Foods will have an entire wall of these oils.

Looks pretty reasonable.... when you look at the quantity of oil.
In India a liter of cold pressed sesame oil would be about $4. If it is US-Government FDA approved for export for US people consumption, a retail price that is slightly over double that should be quite reasonable. There are plenty of transactions (and margins) between the cold-pressing, and co-sis buying.
There are some bare minimum FDA requirements for imports into USA. LINK. However, there had been a number of cases of heavy metal contamination of items imported from China and India. Exporters would usually hire sub-contractors to gather the requisite quality certifications and attach these to every shipload of stuff they send off to EU or USA.

Please don’t used any extra virgin oil for cooking! It’s not meant for cooking as it can’t take the heat and denatures, breaks down into cancerous compounds very fast if subjected to heat. You can use this kind of oil in salads, cold dishes or for mixing into dishes off heat or at the table but not for cooking.

You are very sweet but I spoke in haste and did not check my facts before posting above. I just checked and extra virgin COCONUT oil, unlike other EV oils, is FINE to use for medium heat, esp for sauteing and baking upto 350F which covers most of our Indian style stove top cooking except frying. I did not know this myself before coming to this thread and posting here. So what I said above holds for EVOO ( olive oil) but NOT for EVCO (coconut oil) . My Apologies, and please carry on, You are on right track!
