nice thread... I will be turning 40 in 15 months from now as well and was secretly regretting it...BUT.... now, going to live by this!
It is a bit weird, but now I don't feel old, actually I am pretty determined to feel younger. I strongly believe age is a mental thing than physical. I was introspecting a few days back about what changed from now to 20 yrs back, - actually not much has changed in the last 14-15 years. I had pretty much the same challenges, the only difference was in how I reacted - till 5 years back, I would just move on, nowadays I am not able to. I have entered that phase of self-doubt again. When one has decided mentally to retire, nothing can stop them from going down, that is where I did a mistake, one should plan for long term, not short term. I feel like I am running out of steam. A few things have happened in the recent past that have slowed me down. I am trying to get up, but I feel so lost.
All will be fine Never give up!! You are a strong woman to hold on,feel the pain, let go or keeping facing the challenges and still have to!!
Primary issue is Health after this age and perhaps health of our elder family members/parents in india etc. The main thing (health of 40+ person) seems to be good, then not much to worry. And yes 18-25 folks may call you anika aunty, but thats just life progression. There will be a time when they call us paatti too.
At every grand milestone in one's own aging, people have to stop and wonder if there is some grand truth they had divined, because of that additional 10 years of "whatever" that had gone by. Here is someone else's revelation in a Venn Diagram....:
My mom got super-irritated when the Amazon delivery guy called her Paati. For some reason she got even more annoyed when I pointed out that she is actually a Paati.....
Haha, we fight it till we can 25-30 years from now, anika may go up in arms against amzn guy if called as “Hiya Granny”
