    Thanks mayflower:)
Thing is IL is my parallel world..I am brutally honest here and speak my mind. The place is my meditation and I love it.In the real world,am someone who actually keeps to herself and maintain a very low profile.I feel uncomfortable even thinking about video logs..so hence YouTube won’t work for someone like me.However..am very happy to be helpful in IL and the best contribution award made me feel so good and gave me a huge energy boost.I am Grateful for that:)

yes you woudnt have any privacy If you post videos on YouTube..then better to just create an online blog...you could also create an Instagram page for fitness related posts..you can post articles, images, documents, blogs etc without invading your privacy...many friends who are passionate about cooking and not baking post pics of the food items prepared by them with details and recipes on their Instagram pages..some who are artistically inclined post pics of their paintings...they create a separate Instagram page for this kind of stuff...I don’t find any personal pics there...all the likes and comments you get from friends and followers would boost your morale..along with satisfaction of helping others...

    Hi Anika,

I had changed my diet and had been doing excercise for past few months. My weight is well under control now but off late i am experiencing severe hairfall. Mom says am loosing hair because i am not eating properly these days:facepalm:. She suggests eating badam and other nuts but am worried if it would increase my weight. Can you suggest list of foods for controlling hairfall and will also not affect my weight?

Nuts are healthy and eat them on low carb days. How are your iron levels?
Increase Spinach, curry leaves and other leafy green vegetables. Also, check your calcium, proteinlevels.Add dates to your diet.
Most importantly...stress plays a major part in hairfall.

What shampoo do you use?Lot of people have complained including me experienced hairfall coz of a shampoo starting with “P”..

Water used for hair is another problem.

When you spoke about diet..what kind of diet you followed?was your weight loss drastic or slow with a very well balanced diet?Usually many get weight loss by cutting out important elements in their diet.

When Your body gets very hot, heated up that is one of the problems of hairfall.Eat cooling foods.

Try the above and let me know

Thanks for replying , Anika. My weight loss was not drastic at all. I was not over weight, but wanted to loose few kgs and inches to get into shape.
I lost around 3kgs in a span of around 6 mnths. I haven't eliminated anything completely from my diet instead i reduced the quantity of what I usually ate. I follow typical south indian diet so reduced from 4 idly/dosa to 2 , 2 cups rice has been reduced to 1 and started eating more kootu/vegetables instead. Reduced salt/sugar and added excercise to daily routine. Seeing me eat less rice , Mom feels that I am not eating enough:facepalm:

But your reply made me remember that i did change my shampoo :smash2:. Got a neem based one thinking it would be good for scalp. And another change in last 2mnths is that i started having filter coffee:thinking:.
I am not sure of my iron/calcium level though. Ok so I will try doing the following things and see
    1. change shampoo( dnt knw to which:thinking:)
    2. eat nuts/dates
    3. eat cooling foods as I too suspect the bodyheat.
Thanks for helping Anika, your reply gave me the various possibilities for the problem. Now I will try to figure out which is causing it.

3 kg in 6 months isn’t drastic weight loss...
Usually iron, zinc, Vitamin B and Vitamin E supplements or a multivitamin containing all these could help with hair fall...check with general physician..get thyroid levels checked as thyroid imbalance is a major cause of hair fall...in my case I experienced hair fall due to hypothyroidism and stress and vitamin and iron deficiencies...inspite of no weight loss....it was very bad then I got it diagnosed and took appropriate meds..and really water and shampoo used matter...don’t use hot water but warm water to wash hair...and try being stress free...

    :hello:
Spouse was telling excuses to join me at the dinning table. I was upset that she Had some ailment which she was not telling. If I ask about her health she would frown! Then few days later, I discovered that she was pursuing secret goal. To tempt her, I put the weighing machine at the entrance to wash. She smiled and revealed the truth. But I agree no need to Tom to Tom to outsiders about one’s weighty goal. After achieving, it would automatically reveals.

I love this sentence. It’s something like “ a small step for me: a giant leap for the mankind”

My mother was just like that would observe Ekadashi vrad.
When she was suffering from migraine, entire day night exceeding Twenty four hours at a stretch she would be on total fast including avoiding drinking water.
She maintained her weight always around 45 to 50 kgs till her last when she was 84 +.

I am happy for it. In her book Ruchika Says the same several times in her weighty book. Her fasting programme data base exceeds a million and crunches at great speed. Current fees exceeds 7 lacs. Ideas are as simple as South Indian menu plus some simple workouts. Pounding rice grinding idli dough by hand etc replaced the natural exercises nn built in regular household in the past same come out in different form in gyms. The rangoli for few minutes in changing postures in margahzi - said to keep person fit and warm for entire day!

This again depends upon geography and season.
Rice gives heaviness in the beginning and later lightness and craving for food occurs early.
Wheat ie chappathi light after eating but soaked in stomach expands cause heaviness later with slow digestion and no craving early for food.
    I agree with your statement.

This can not be said good for all. A gap of half to one hour advised to have fruits befor or after meal night or day. Another belief is that fruits to be eaten first and after a gap of one hour or so regular food can be taken. Age and other sickness if any also matters.

I agree. This followed at my residence since several years. Average weight of our family maintained below sixty five for many long years. Now it is still less.

Turn Dhall hard to digest and produce gas compared to easy to digest moong and less generation of gas.

    Well said.

It is believed handful of nuts including walnuts & pistachios in night improves memory.

    Thanks @anika987 -
Rujuta of indusladies. I enjoyed reading the blog in full just for information. Quite a nice analysis of anatomy from view point of metabolism and maintains weight and fitness. I heard weight reduction and weight maintenance are different. It should be.

Thank you:) Glad you enjoyed reading my thread.

I started working out in 2003 and my path to weight loss, fitness, why I started, the mistake I did,the pain, the demotivated time, the weight gain back and then resetting the ideas when it comes to fitness could be written in a new thread itself:.maybe I should do that:)

Now my fitness journey is about emotional health..that is the cherry on top of the cake.Emotional health and inner peace is the final destination to fitness..
