    Dear Sabitha,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on discontentment and overwhelm. I always believed contentment comes from the sense of fulfillment, sense of fulfillment comes from being in the present moment and doing things we do skillfully, lovingly and selflessly, living in the present moment comes from the discipline of the mind, discipline of the mind comes from our habits, habits come from our thoughts and thoughts come from the effects of our past actions. It is a vicious cycle. Eventually, changing our thoughts, if we are charged negatively, is part of our living.

In my view, overwhelming with so much to do is a good problem to have as we are all born to perform actions. In simple terms, action items are merely a set of thoughts out of our wish list and as long as we do each action with full commitment, we can achieve contentment. The contentment itself is a sense of satisfaction in life and it comes from how we did what we did and not from how much we did. It changes the trajectory of our thoughts into focus on contentment of what we did as opposed to what we didn't finish. Quality of what we do becomes our main focus as opposed to quantity. That is why your grandmother and mother lived a quality life. Looking at your expressions in snippets as an outsider, I don't see any difference in how you lead your life vs how your mother and grandmother led their lives.

Frankly, a schedule is limited by time and time is a limitation only for the mind which is nothing but cauldron of thoughts. Rearranging thoughts to focus on the quality of what we do, the importance of what we do and enjoyment of what we do leads to contentment, in my opinion.

    Dear Vani,

You are so sweet. Thank you for assuring me that you could resonate with me. Some books make us question more and I think it is necessary to feel that discontentment so that we can only do better. So you are doing the right thing of taking a proper back only to get back rejuvenated.

With your lovely attitude, I have no doubt you have already had a lovely start to the New Years! Thank you as always for your response.

    Dear V Sir,

    Thank you for your response.
This is what I was thinking about when I wrote the blog - questioning my sense of discipline and unfortunately of that of others too - which can lead to discontentment and a sense of overwhelm too!

That truly assures me but doesn't stop me from wondering about them :)

And that is another reason, spent quite a bit if time trying to understand the concept of time  Watching videos and reading, just out of curiosity. So the two weeks were spent from doing nothing on a few days to deep reading and that led to the ambivalence I felt. Intellectually I get more than I should but when it has to become experiential is when I hit this state of being. I only assure myself that I am growing :)

    Hello Srama,

A very refreshing read indeed. It was awesome to read the replies too. Many a time good books tend to make us delve deeper and question ourselves prompting us to come up with answers. Can you share the book title?? As always the flow of thought in your article is wonderful. It gently makes us look within to find where and how a line can be drawn to find contentment and how we get carried away by the rush of the hour and need of the hour.

    Dear Padma Priya @padma0604 ,

Such a warm feed back! Thank you for understanding the spirit in which this snippet came out! You got it. The book is Karan Bajas's "Yoga of Max's discontent" - if we believe day to day life and chasing after things is hard, so is giving up everything. I personally liked the book a lot. I believe it may be sold under a different title in India.

Truly, truly appreciate the your words that I quoted above. That means a lot. Thank you for your feedback.
