Since B is only willing to go 1/3 or 1/2, B is obviously sensitive not to cause heartburn to D. And if C (obviously forin-living) wants to reward B with her own 1/3rd share for caretaking parents, and yet not cause pain to either B or D, C should take the 1/3 share, and appoint B to help/manage whatever it was that got bequeathed. And pay B a liberal fee for that, using the assets that are being managed. All would be happy.

I am sure that many forin-living 55+ year olds with a chunk of money in an Indian bank are slowly working that foreign bank balance down -- with help to relatives (under whatever criteria for deservedness), for expenses during occasional visits, buying gifts for "local deliveries", and in philanthropic activities.

OMG! Did Sudha Murthy know about this? Or does she just happy with the taking credit of other person's amazing quotes on life?

    @Mistt ,

I don't know how that world works. I am sure she didn't personally go out sending this message - my guess is some where along the way it got misquoted and stayed that way. But since it got shared in IL, I felt I should mention. Chithra aunty @Chitvish had made a huge impact on many a woman in her own way, not to speak of all that she has done here in IL :)

*In all my relationships , rather interactions, I give my best and do my best to live up to what I say.*
However, I remain detached in the sense that *I do not expect them to reciprocate my affection.*
, *not to interfere or pass judgements* on the lives they choose to lead.
My *concern for my near and dear ones will not fade with my detachment.*
If you let go of the ones you love, they will never go away –
this is the *beauty of attachment with detachment !*
I have learnt to love and let go.
This dictum has developed tolerance in me.
When *I let the people live the* *way they want to, I learn to accept* *them for what they are.*
    Most importantly ,
I learn to tolerate the world around me and this tolerance brings in me a sense of peace and contentment.
    We must learn
*To love whatever we do instead of doing whatever we love !!"

Above quotes themselves show the great personality of @Chitvish ma'am and will read her worthy posts.
Thank you @Srama for the clarification.:)

Good find @Srama . You have a great memory. Thanks for bringing it up.

The article looks the same except a few sentences in the last paragraph. As we get many forwards in whatsupp or internet, I dont give much importance. Since I noticed Sudhamurthy's name, I checked it online before adding here. It is mentioned like her post in Hindustan times (a leading national daily- Love your children, but set them free) I thought its correct one and posted here.

If you google ' Sudhamurthy, attachment in detachment'" you will find many sites inclusing quora refer it as Sudhamurthy's post. All those are posts are recent (published in less than 4 years). But this post by @Chitvish is really old (published in 2006). Great article ma'm.

Is she aware that her post is spread like someone else post? Are you aware of it @Chitvish?

Not sure if Sudhamurthy is aware that she got credit for someone else article. This post looks convincing as she also has a son and daughter. Also in some of her writing, she mentions about attachment with detachment.

If its copied its copyright violation. Only the authors can comment on it.

@Cheeniya Sir, you can remove my post if its against forum etiquette to provide wrong author information.

After noticing your reply, I searched it here too . It was mentioned earlier here as Sudhamurthy's post in Forget Detachment, Attach.

Thanks for the clarification @Srama . I would definitely like to hear from @Chitvish.

Not discounting others credibility here , but please Just google Attachment in Detachment ... even the search suggestions brings up Sudha murthy ! Why shouldn’t it be the otherway round. No offense intended but could it be Possible the article on IL was a share !

We might not have had interesting shares section earlier in IL

Sudha Murthy is state award winner for her contribution in literature and social work in year 2000 and RK Natrayan award for literature. she has written many books. Or maybe Sudha Murthy and Chitvish both are one and the same. Who knows

Sudha Murthys son and daughter don't live in Chennai..
Little chance of her daughter calling her MiL as 'Amma'..
