I find Melania doing a good job of being the first lady which must be quite a challenge with a man like Trump. She's doing the necessary like leading the appropriate 'change the world' type initiatives. Maintains a low enough profile and hardly ever in a controversy (other than the jacket with "I really don't care, do you" written on the back).

I wouldn't expect her to speak up whenever her belligerent and unpredictable husband yet again speaks without thinking. She's quietly shown her displeasure at his antics a few times - canceling a foreign trip, the separate cars to the State of the Union address. Being the first lady is finally only a job. She deserves a 4 out of 5. So far.

That’s just splitting hairs. If the FLOTUS is against cyber bullying only when a GOP child is the target then it’s pretty meaningless. So anyone that Trump doesn’t like is fair game? That’s fine as long as you own your hypocrisy.

Melania’s doing pretty much nothing in her official role. What initiatives has she taken on and what has she accomplished? She’s as big a joke as the one she’s married to. Be Best, LOL!

I don't know what exactly is the job of the first lady, how much is officially required and how much it has acquired due to tradition from inspiring first ladies over the past 230 years. A casual search shows that "Although the first lady’s role has never been codified or officially defined, she figures prominently in the political and social life of the nation."

Given her background and the challenge of being the wife of a man with a temperament like Trump's, I consider the low profile and no/few controversies as sufficient achievement in terms of "figuring in the social and political life of the nation."

Could she have chosen a less ironic initiative, yes. The blame for that misstep can be laid on the "Office of the first lady." An unrelated trivia: Michelle Obama had 24 staffers in the FLOTUS office, while Melania has 12.

Melania is doing nothing remarkable maybe, but that is preferable to a Stanford law prof who doesn't know how to apologize properly.

You have fixed Trump = Bad, so obviously you have to see everything in that shade. Why make it personal?

It's politics; hypocrisy is embedded. If it suits the agenda, all shine and glory; otherwise doom and gloom.

Orange man doesn't have the nuances of Madame Hillary. In his place, she would have invited Greta to the white house for dinner, issue some 'i am concerned' statements, make sure the press is all ga-ga about it. And that's pretty much about it.

At least the Stanford law professor didn’t pose naked, violate immigration laws, benefit from chain immigration, promote birther nonsense, shall I go on....
With the way the Trumps behave it’s ironic that they can dish out insults to others but are such snowflakes when the shoe shifts.

What’s sauce for the goose is the sauce for the gander. It is vastly amusing that a sitting president would throw a hissy fit on Twitter because a 16-year old got some attention.

Again. You are waiving responsibility off that 16 year old; why? because she is a kid? Precisely the reason why the activists are using her.

Is the carefree years of her life lost to activism? Fueled by this popularity which most of the time gets politicized with the 'you are either with us, or on the other side' polarized environment.

Trump mocking apart, this girl indeed needs to chill.

One could say that of any young person who becomes a public figure. Why can’t they use their voice? Perhaps Malala should also have been told to chill and remain under her burqa?
