    I agree! We also forget that most of these women are smart, capable individuals on their own (Melinda gates being a good example). McKenzie Bezos is probably leading a happy fulfilling life on her own.

    Actually..rich or not..I think it’s the attitude..

    actor maddy’s wife is a homemaker and she has a social Life one can envy plus she looks positive and vibrant all the time..

    Anika,not just money alone, connectedness, a sense of meaningful purpose and self realization about one's capabilities surely can make one happy. Doesn't matter if you are a stay at home or working mom. You have to realize your strong points and work on it. I am not preaching,I am trying too :)

    @IL86 I did not make a blanket statement. Please reread my post. I said several times- women like me and my friends.

    There are so many people in world, and each one had their own view point/ mental frame of reference. With my mental frame of reference, that kind of my marriage will do more harm than good, to women whom I call my tribe.

    Glad you put forth an example that does not align with my examples. Cheers to diversity!

    anyway, if one is (or wants to be) independent, then one can do so even if hubby is a very high earner. Sudha Murthy , there are many many examples. I dont get “what is the difficulty” the tribe faces of being worried about being relegated to a measly role.

    It might be a breach of contract in certain industries, but being an employee in public sector, if you know me you can google my full name and you will get what exactly my salary was. It is public information, at least where i work. But then I dont make tons of money:wink:
