Some videos can spur on quite unexpected deep feelings in the heart. Cannot explain to others.

Like beauty and the beholder, why don't you explain, and let understanding or not rest with the others?

I just started watching it. Watched 14 seconds. I am homesick already and no tickets booked. I like how she explains how to subscribe and what happens if we subscribe.

Ok, now I have watched 60 seconds. : ) I didn't realize tayyar (ready) is used so easily in Telugu. I loved how she cut the green chillis in various sizes and shapes. And before that she says she has chopped/prepped some of the veges already and the rest she will do JIT.

JIT = Just in Time. Looong ago, in my first engineering job, the company was proud to be the pioneer of that technology's use in India. Originated in Japan in the 1970's.

2 mins done. I now start to get what you mean... She even shows how to stack the containers and put the holder thingie around them. Man.. nostalgia can come at you with such force sometimes. If I close my eyes, I can hear the pressure cooker sounds from the houses in the neighborhood of my childhood ...

3 mins done. The narrator will make a good MIL. I had a friend who had her MIL over to help during childbirth, delivery. Smart woman my friend. She tolerated the few comments from MIL for the overall benefit of learning how to cook her husband's favorite dishes. MIL was happy to teach. My friend stood in the kitchen at 6-7 months pregnant and learnt from a MIL who didn't believe in writing recipes.

Back to the video: at 2:53, she processes the soaked tamarind with her fingers. Jr. once saw me do that and swore off sambhar for life. : ) Until I showed him that I rarely use real soaked tamarind and mostly only the concentrate. : )

    Untaanu...
    (Toodles for now)

Those hands, the cooking utensils, and her voice over reminded me of someone who had cooked the last of her rasams a while back.
Now and then you'd hear a comment from some woman in their late 40's or early 50's (men don't seem to do this) saying that she looked at the back of her hand the "other day", and suddenly she saw her mother's, or grandmother's.

Recently a whole lot of poor people were convinced to vote for the Conservatives in the elections of December 12, 2019. BREXIT-fuzziness of the Labour party, and the Labour leader's inability to campaign well-enough were blamed for the election loss, even though the Conservatives had held the government for the last 9+ years, and have done poorly to improve the lot of the struggling middle classes and the working classes.

@Thyagarajan -- tagging to show how poor the UK people are -- and they are going to go down further in the next few years.

:hello: Thanks for enlightening. I had though a different picture from my MIT class mate in Germany & few friends in UK, YET I TEND TO AGREE with your statements. With the change in political landscape in UK & in other parts of Europe, there could be a huge resistance from locals to migrants employed for a pittance.

    2. According to my friend, In factories a huge sprawling car parking complex provided for their serving employees holding positions down the hierarchical pyramid in Hamburg.

    3. He claims, With high literacy and easy employment in factories, only very few available for and as domestic help but every one has car and parking space not provided they can’t be hired.
    Thanks and Regards.
