Diwali does not have the same charm like our childhood days. So much changes arethere. During our childhood days we used to wait for Diwali as only during Diwali we used to get new dresses. I still remember the printed satin pavadai with pink melakku which was my favourite during my teenage. Had to get up at 4 a.m., mother or grandmother will keep ennai on our head and then we go for oil bath and then wear the new dress.Take elders blessings. Then lit the patakas. Go to temple and visit relatives house. Idli, sambhar with chutney will be the breakfast with palaharam made for Diwali. Wow still my mouth waters thinking of the palaharam and sweets which my grandmother used to make. She was expert in making kai murukku. My brother used to like sevai made by her. It used to be so difficult to make with sevai nazhi but still she usedt o make and give us yummy food.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,
But anyone can start today and make a new ending…

Some thing are not complete without like

A pooja is not complete without showing AArathi or kalpuram

A food is not complete without adding salt, they say uppu illa pandam kuppaiyile but salt can be added later also and if the salt is more then it is no use

A Speech is not complete without the Chief Guest

A function is not complete without attending the guests and giving them a yummy lunch or dinner

Now a days Children's birthday parties are not complete without Return Gifts which brings a smile on the child's face

But now a days for any functions are also Return gifts are given to appreciate their attending the function and also to honour them

Also any function is not complete without taking videos and photos which bring us memories later in life

Navratri is not complete without giving Thambulam packets with nice gifts tothe ladies

Diwali is not complete without making sweets and savouries and wearing new dresses and visiting friends and relatives

Sumangali Prarthanai is not complete without honouring the ladies who are like Devis and giving them yummy lunch and thambulam. This is the time when ladies have lunch before men

Shraddham is not complete without Poojari coming in time and doing the rituals to the satisfaction of the person who is doing it

For me my snippet is not complete without getting likes, fbs from all and also from great writers. When I get fb from Cheeniya Sir, my loving brother I feel I have got an award

    My Dear Pyaari Viji,

Felt nice to read the snippet. Yeah no Diwali can compare with the Diwali of our bachpan (childhood). But also change is good. I like how now it is easier to make the delicacies if one finds shortcuts and other tips online.

    Thank you for this quote:

    Dear Vijiakka,

I enjoyed reading your snippet bringing those pleasant memories of the childhood celebration of Deepavali. All of the rituals we went through during childhood has changed significantly. We used to take blessings from the elders and distribute sweets we made at home with other friends and relatives. But things have changed now. The world is moving fast and changed a lot.
