@Greenbay A bunch of women in your age range noticed what you did about the egg post. But none of them made that comment like you did. Why do you think ?
Personally, I didn’t have the time. I didn’t see anything wrong in the man’s post otherwise I would have reported it and followed up with the admin. Thats what everyone is encouraged to do.
Different situations indeed. That's true. This does not necessarily follow. In research, any proposed answer to one question provokes others. When one sees a result, one is prompted to ask, "Is this observation extensible? How generalizable is it?" Then one goes off and does a different study. In a similar vein, the point of the post is to ask: what contributes to perceptions of "creepiness" online? To what extent does such a perception reflect reality? To what extent is it subjective? Do some people/texts/words come across as "creepier" than others? If so, why? What lies at the root of such interactions? Do some people have a more sensitive "creepiness" radar? And so on and so forth. As mentioned in the post - food for thought. No endorsement implied. Nor do I believe that any such study is the final word. "Eggs" in quotes had me thinking about IVF. If it had really been about that I would have responded.
Like so many women misinterpreted, he did too. He casually let it out what he felt...while other women are letting it out now when it has become an issue. He might not have had wrong intention, but seems to me he apparently had the wrong timing ( posting first). If its a serious pm trolling or continuous thread trolling, no one is going to just sit around. There are many profiles that have been thrown out never to come back. His 'egg' post made him walk on enough egg shells already, bring some peace.
Added a comment as a new member but realized it’s irrelevant...As someone rightly pointed out, we are all pots calling kettles black.

Hi everyone..I played a Joey here ( friends serial)..He quoted the words “thanks” / “sorry”in one episode.Any avid friends fans will understand anyways jokes apart..I quoted it coz I wanted replies to my query and it was important to me.Sometimes when a question appears important, people go to the post and read it.I wanted to stress that. That’s all. Never even imagined it will be thought of in a different way. Apologize for the Confusions. Will quote appropriately next time
Reading these discussions made me think of the idiomatic phrase "lay an egg". lay an egg - Wiktionary
Agree We can extend the research but the point is originally posted article never addressed anything related to "online" creepiness. Even if some conclusions are extended based on the above research it will be still be statement not statistically backed up by any data set which is same as expressing my opinion. Both have similar accuracy. It finally boils downs whether my statement can be refuted by any other theory which can be backed up by data . If not then that is just another opinion as mine.
