Wear Saree To Office In Usa

    If it is an office where women already wear sarees, you can wear the saree just like one would wear to work in India.

    If you will be the first at your work place to be wearing sarees, the bare midriff could be taking the Casual Friday relaxation a bit too far. If the work is of the artistic kind and others also dress exotically, it might be ok.

    Even when draped carefully, given the long day of work, there is plenty of scope for the midriff to peek out and say peek-a-boo to a beholder's eyes.

    I think it grabs too much unwanted attention. Unless there are some ethnic events I would never do that for other days

    Iwork for local government.

    When I wore salwar kameez, kurti and palazzo, I got compliments.

    I wore to technical conference (kurti and skirt) and got compliments from men and women.

    But two old creepy white guys approached me though.... will carry puracell next time ;-)

    If you want attention, be different.
    Because anything unusual is an ice-breaker for strangers to approach and start a conversation....whether it is the type you want or hate.
    I wonder if that office has anyone in a full burqua, with only slits for eyes. There are american cities where a less colorful, full body cover (but face open) is becoming a normal thing to see.
