The bodies looked 'pathetic'... is what you meant. They still could be happy and satisfied , how beautiful is that.

Also, who would force two terminally ill persons to marry each other... like 'arranged terminal marriage' or something?.. I don't think we have gotten that low yet.

Their life their choice, as long as they arn't making anyone else miserable, and plan to draw a bit of joy out of what is left..why not?

In my previous posts, I have clearly mentioned that there is nothing wrong if it is an informed choice of both.
Who cares if that is what the "terminally ill" patient wanted?
Who cares if that is what the "terminally ill" patient choose to satisfy his/her loved ones?
But the world should care if that is not the choice of a "terminally ill" patient but the choice of someone who takes care of her/him. Period.
All I emphasized in my previous post is the way how these weddings were organized, and how these "terminally ill" patients looked, and how these videos went viral afterwards, it seemed the whole arrangement had some hidden agenda. Perhaps, not.
But this is what I felt after seeing one latest clip on this matter.
Felt so sad to see a bride - who suffered from kidney cancer at the last stage, in the altar.
She couldn't even able to walk normal, couldn't even breath without support etc etc...
But she had to go for a full make-up, and dressing for the video that must have taken minimum 3-4 hrs.
Putting up a wedding make up is not a joke. That too when you are 'terminally ill" with such a problem is not something "normal".
Sadly she died the next day. And I guessed the result knowing the amount of effort that dying patient had to put to make that wedding a near normal at that stage.
Of course that clip went viral, and her partner received a lot of accolade for marrying someone who was already dying.
Not sure whether anyone sponsored for such a wedding, or any rewards given for that man later on.
But I couldn't place myself on that dying soul's shoes. And her struggle (specially breathing struggle) in that altar made me raise this question

    We means who?
    You? Your community?
Because we - I mean, the people in this world have stooped so low to the extend of infanticide, child rape, infidelity, killing and what not.
So, what's the guarantee that someone in some part of the world wouldn't use a dying soul for their favor? Specially when they are the sole care-taker of that person?

I feel it's not good to assume things on seeing such videos on Facebook..Commenting on others' life from outside is very easy. I really wish OP hadn't used the word 'pathetic' ..Being terminally ill is not that person's fault.He/ she is entitled to have ordinary wishes.Marriage is a personal decision and choice. Others can't comment on it.

SGBV, Pathetic is too strong a choice of a word to describe this situation, if your intention is not to sound judgmental.
I have heard of men/ women that got the cancer diagnosis in the midst of their wedding preparations. This might have been the dying person’s last wish. I don’t see anything wrong if their family wants to fulfill that. If this in the US, I can assure you patients comfort always comes first. Patients in hospice are given morphine and other similar pain relievers.
This whole situation is poignant , but definitely not pathetic.

Right... please see beyond the physical ability.

People die when their hope does. Their bodies may seem struggling but tell me who in their last breaths will take a decision for the sake of it. I mean they know they don't have time at their disposal. That decision to marry is for themselves.. a little gift to themselves before the last grain of hour glass drops down. I mean for personally, I applaud their hope!. They chose to make something out of the last moments even in such pain!.. than just lying on the bed...

Hidden agendas in present are planned for future perks. Get it? :(...I am not able to assume what you assumed; why would a carer ask someone they care about to put up an exhaustive show while they are on death beds for the instant money.. it dosn't add up to me.

I know you meant to have a good chat but may be reconsider what you want to defend here:
Is it your opinion over the act or the beauty which is hidden in it.
I think its easier to go with the second one.

I think I am already clear in what I meant, rest my case :)... and lurking!

Nope, still I wanted to have a good chat about this, than playing games over the term "pathetic" when the whole idea of this thread is clear to almost all.
Sadly, I had to rest my case since many posters don't wanna participate in a good chat, rather feel comfortable to go with the flow.

The argument about why would a care taker have an hidden agenda seems too naive, and I think certain posters need to understand this world better.
Nevertheless, I too wish these weddings - however pathetic it may seem- are for real, and for the sole purpose of fulfilling the dying person's dreams.

Let's agree to disagree in a decent manner.

PS: If someone could understand & assume my hidden reasons behind this thread, then why do they think I can't do the same behind such facebook videos???

Can you please stop using the word “pathetic” repeatedly in the context of a dying person’s last wish? The use of this word is absolutely inhuman here.

For someone that did not want to be judged for believing in black magic, it is ironic that you do not mind judging others for their actions in their most painful of times.

And as for “ Let's agree to disagree in a decent manner” . The use of the word pathetic is by no means decent.

You wrote what many probably wanted to write but hesitated.
But, I don't think you are going to convince SGBV, from what I have seen over a long time - once she takes a stand, she is quite stubborn about that.

    Dear Singh Manisha

You have written whatever I felt..

"For someone that did not want to be judged for believing in black magic, it is ironic that you do not mind judging others for their actions in their most painful of times."

Yes, usage of ' pathetic' isn't decent.
