Yes this is what I endorse and try to adopt.

I don't have beliefs in these friendship with SIL. My husband compares mine and my sister's bond and says why I can't keep that bond with my SILs.

It doesn't work that way. :) my sister won't judge me . I can share anything under sun with her. But with SILs I fear being judged and can't open up with them .

Anyways as you say having a " we can tolerate each other " kind of relationship is better than trying for "you are my best friend" kind of relationship.

Takes two really open minded non judgemental women to do that.

Moving on from SIL to dirty in-laws ! This is a issue of a totally different kind. I am wondering if OP had a chance to see the in-laws home before marriage.
Overbearing SIL in a cluttered dusty home should hurt more.

I didn't see that thread. But I did read what you quoted in SIL's thread.

    I don't know what to say. :mask::mask:
Not segregating garbage by MIL gets on my nerves. I literally segregate every day with my hand before giving it to the person who collects it. Seeing me do that she makes an effort to segregate it and put in separate bins . Sometimes only though .

Cooking in same kadai for 5 days would make me run away from that house. :astonished::astonished:

Okay I'm lucky now after Reading that. :grinning::grinning:

Cleanliness is next to godliness. I can't imagine staying in such an environment and really really pity op there with no thoughts to share .

I've heard that in communities where men wear "the thread" on the chest, and the tropical weather agrees with the topless look for men, unmarried men wear a thread across the chest that has three-strands, and married men (Gruhasta) wear a thread that has six strands.
Do I have the correct count ?

When people move to colder climates, men ought to be asked to wear these outside the shirt/jacket etc.. That would solve the issue of signalling the world about the civil status. ;)

    Yes. Right.
But my FIL/dad wear 9 strands(3x3). Makes me wonder why ?
I'll have to check with them..

They add a strand at every milestone. When they become a father. Maybe one for each kid or only when you get a son I’m not sure. When they lose a parent and so on.

IL admin are doing a good job of disposing troll posts . I find it hard to believe that 25% of desi population in Dallas resorts to swapping . We are not that “advanced “ yet :tonguewink:

Sorry, I just realized the response before mine was about sacred threads . No intention to pollute this relationship forum.
