This video is about Isaac Richards who is an American but speaks Telugu so fluently. He stayed at Vizag, Andhra Pradesh for 2 years and he was so interested to learn Telugu.
He met some Telugu people at Yellowstone and they have become his fan.
I loved his accent and the way he speaks without much difficulty.
The funniest thing is there is some guy in the video who is not able to recall few words in Telugu though it's his mother tongue. But looks like Isaac is the winner!

Here is another video. He speaks so sweetly and even hums Telugu tune. Honestly, he speaks far better than me :tongueclosed:

Really amazing. IN the conversation this guy is not thinking and talking, he speaks naturally as his own language. Happy to watch and know how much he is inspired by our language.

I showed his Telugu speaking videos to my daughter for inspiration.

Yes that’s what even surprised me.
If at all the same enthusiasm we Indians have when we go to different states and cities and learn the language, things would be so different.

Yes. But please don’t let your love for your native language carry you away. Please understand the reality behind.

This guy is a missionary and the purpose for which he is learning the language and visiting so often is for conversions. After our recent state elections lot of American missionaries are heading to that state and there’s an uptick in conversion initiatives there because they feel now political climate is favorable for them.

What I mean to say is if this guy is sent by his church to Dominican Republic or Africa he will learn Spanish or African language with same fervor and say those places live in his heart. They genuinely believe they are ‘saving’ the pagans and will get a place in heaven the more people they save. And that’s all that matters to them.

His diction is close to impeccable! And the few mistakes are cute. Like, he uses chedda to describe almost any mistake and "rendu video" for second video.

I forwarded to a few friends. We were thinking that under his Next Enti video we should list songs from 1980's movies that we'd like him to recite (not sing, thank you). : )

Then, I did some googling.Isaac from Vizag! American youth wows desis speaking in fluent Telugu | Hyderabad News - Times of India
His Facebook profile shows that he is from Idaho and lives in Utah and he describes himself as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, India Bengaluru Mission.
His mastery of a foreign language is still commendable and amazing, but to quote from his YouTube channel's name, that he is a missionary is something that we should marchipokudadhu (not forget).

Yes Rihana has posted the links also. What I can’t stand about these people is the duplicity. People oh and ah and do get charmed at their command of the language. And when they quite naturally ask them ‘how come you know the language so well’ they never ever tell the truth or utter the word missionary or conversion. Instead they pretend they are in love - with us or our state or country. I just hate that double- baazi!

What are you hiding? And why are you hiding it? Normally people would hide things because they know doing them is wrong, isn’t it? I would respect them and their work more if they are honest and open about who they are and what they have come for. I really have no opinion for or against missionary. They have their own place in society. But I do hate liars and dishonest posturing and taking advantage of people’s weakness for their native language.

"Duplicity" -- That's exactly what irritated me when I found out about the missionary angle. I was looking in his YouTube channel, and news articles etc about why he learnt Telugu, and it doesn't say it obviously in most places. To be honest, the first time I got suspicious was when in one video he said in Telugu, "all of AP, Telangana, all of India are my brothers, sisters, mother, father, aunt, uncle.. <something like that>and I have four younger brothers in my family."

The five children thing made me look up more... Feel free to judge why "five children" made me suspicious. : )
