    @Needtobestrong
In all the responses it is revealed that there is no scope for absolute privacy.
These are the trendy days hacking biggies accounts. If family members are not techies, then there is a semblance of privacy. If some one is bent upon spying can have access to any account easily employing a professional hacker read detective. Face book boss account no exception.

So the advise by @Rihana is sound for need to be strong about the issue.

    Thanks and Regards.

    :hello:@Anusha2917
You were MIA for quite long. Hope everything ok. Your membership nearing its FIRST anniversary and you struck good ratio for ever one message you are having over 3 likes. Quite a performance. Keep it up and advance congratulation for the impending anniversary.
    God bless.

I have seen a post of my friend/neighbor who I see every weekend. I dont want to talk about that, neither does the person who posted, so I think it is a win-win as long as no one is bothering each other.

It is usually not the anonymous forums where members lose their personal information that are repurposed as kompromat's. They lose it in other information sharing applications on the smartphones and web. Here is a case where a member had lost control of her martial happiness, by volunteering a lot of information that can be spun back to her spouse so as to destroy his equilibrium:

OP, you have a valid question. It is kinda tricky. Leaving the technicals which already folks have mentioned, that nothing is secure . i personally follow some ground rules when i access IL . Fyi this is just my way of doing

. never access IL at work. i am not judging or being angry at my co-workers, but work i am expect to make money for my office and nothing is private there. so focus on related to it.

. phone access is only thru ingonito.

. avoiding sharing personal info with anyone that can be identified to you ( i remember one of IL did say/). do not get too attaching your profile name picture.

FYI. if someone wants to track you and abuse, then they are too smart to waste their skills that can be monetized very well. most of the time people are tracked is through poor social attacks , where we willing share info which more than needed to a random stranger like location, picture and more personal info.

random vents , i do not think anyone worries, internet is full of it now a days. People are Venting now in LinkedIn :) which i find hilarious as i always considered that as a networking and job tool

Well, I've thought about this a lot in the past.

IL has been my stress relief. When there was so much happening in my life, I felt full and I could not take them anymore. That's when I needed some places to relieve myself, to refresh and face the battle again.
Friends, family, colleagues etc..etc... were good choices, but I could not trust them all.
Some were happy that I have a problem.
Some did not care about my problem.
Some thought my problems were bigger than theirs, and felt immensely relieved.
Some used my problems to backfire later
And only a few genuinely felt sad for me... but they too did not have anything to help.
Sharing helps, but sharing with them can not always be helpful.

    That's why I chose IL.
IL is not safe. There is no anonymity in internet forums as such.
But this is much better then your known friends and colleagues or relatives.
At least there is only 50% risk, but when you share your issue with real life people there is almost 98% risk.

In my case, I don't mind sharing my problems even if that backfires later on. I don't complain, rather I post things as it is. I just get opinions and suggestions from others to improve my decisions.
If someone is bothered about the way how I perceived their behavior and shared that here, then they should be worried about how they conducted themselves before me.
Because I dont lie here. IL won't exaggerate things which is not shared here unlike real life people.

Thanks all for replies..they were very useful for me..

W.r.t internet settings for privacy and about sharing details on this forum...
Yeah nothing is completely anonymous on the net..but while we utilise online resources for our benefit, we need to be careful about privacy and secrecy of identity and personal info too..

In general, we worry about other members sussing out our real life identities, but often forget about lurkers. Just about anybody out there could be reading this content — even years from now — and going "hmmm."

Should we worry about such hmmms? : ) I think posters will not care much if identity is found out by near, dear, not so dear, years from now.
