am an atheist. the attitude of the govt isn't right. with the fabricated majority they have, they could really do wonders in the next 5 years, if the attitude is right.

When I read this announcement, UN is telling both countries to settle bilaterally, use restrain and not change anything. They are also concerned about human rights violation in J & K controlled by India. Simla Agreement is binding both countries to amicably settle issues. Do you think scrapping Article 370 is amicable way to settle this dispute? Pakistan pulling out diplomatic relationship with India is also wrong. With addition 46,000 troops, how can it settle bilaterally?

Viswa both Shimla agreement and Lahore Declatration provide the basis for settling disputes but they are only on paperIndia describing the abrogation as an internal affair is ridiculous. Does it mean they have given up on POK?

I didn’t know much about article 370 until these incidents. I didn’t know it was a temporary agreement and if so why it had been there for so long. So had been reading and trying to understand them.

I don’t think any amount of bilateral talks would have helped India given Pakistan stance. India did what they think is in the best interests of our country. My concern is as what others think about what would happen after the curfew is lifted. That’s a wait and watch situation and hoping for the best.

If majority supports Pakistanm as Shanvy claims , Indian government has noo business holding on to Kashmir. But I doubt it. While there is sterong support for both Pakistan and an independent Kashmir in the valley it has not found support even among Muslims in the other two regions of the state. But looks like the government is determined to alienate even this section of society.
