Episode 9:


Years passed.....

Tulasi was walking towards her home. She was wearing a long floral skirt and a short shirt. Her hair was tied into braids neatly which said she was a school girl.

“Oye! This late?! Where were you?” – Joyal asked seeing Tulasi walking towards him.

“None of your business!” – Tulasi showed her tongue.

“Oh really?! You don’t look like a 8th standard student! Grow up girl” – Joyal teased her and she smirked.

“I wonder how you passed! I wonder which college is offering you seat! Miracles do happen na” – Tulasi teased him back.

“Good joke! Go home early! Tonight we have our moonlight dinner!” – Joyal said as he rode.

“You can go! I know” – Tulasi showed faces and started walking towards home.

Both loved teasing each other everyday.


Grandma was sweeping the entrance to draw Kolam(Rangoli).

“Good evening maa” – Tulasi smiled as she entered and Grandma smiled back

“So! How was your tuition class today”- Grandma asked as she drew.

“All good! Happy day! First day of school na....So nothing much at Tuition...Good today” – Tulasi showed her teeth.

“Good thoughts good things!” – Grandma smiled

“Maa….Where are the snacks?” – Tulasi

“I have kept it in the kitchen dear! Also Mary aunty made a new dish today! Refresh and have” – Grandma

“Ok ok “ - Tulasi said and tip toed towards the curtain to see the sparrows.

She smiled as she saw them.

“Love you….ummmaah” – She whispered and walked towards the kitchen.




“Bye daddy” – Veni waved her hand and Saravanan smiled.

“Bye sweetheart! All the best” – Saravanan dropped her and started to work.

Veni turned out to be the most beautiful girl in her school. She stepped into her 10th standard and she continued to be the best in everything.

Veni was having a round face with dimples on each cheek. Her cute little plaits on both sides made her look cute. The small bindi in between her eyebrows added to her beauty. As she stepped into the campus, many boys secretly looked her, few admired her and some wanted to propose her.

As she was about to reach the classroom, two boys followed her. All of a sudden, she turned towards them and they stood as such.

“What?! What do you want?” – The way she asked was so commanding that no one wanted to propose her though she was stunningly beautiful.

“Fools! Why do they come to school if they wanted to waste time like this” – Veni murmured as she entered her classroom.

Akila and Abirami were waiting for her eagerly.

“Heyyyyyy good morning Veni” – Both chorused.

“Good morning girls” – Veni said as she sat.

“So! Done with your Maths notes?” – Veni

“What notes?” – Abi

“The one I gave in the vacation class we had few days ago” – Veni said as she raised her eyebrows.

“No!” – Aki and Abi

“Girls! I already asked you to be sincere! Else it will be tough for you guys to pass” – Veni frowned

“What to do…. We are not brilliant like you” – Aki

“Oh God! Am here to help you na…Why don’t you do what I say?!” – Veni

“Mathematics is tough!” – both the girls frowned and Veni looked at them angrily.

“Fine! Its time! Lets go to the morning prayer now! Without seeing your beautiful face in prayer, the boys won’t have a good day” – Abi teased and Aki joined her.

Veni laughed as she slightly blushed.

“Come on! You are the beauty queen! You will be the class representative even for this year!” – Aki said and Veni smiled.

“And next year, school representative ; ) “ – both chorused again and Veni left the classroom with a smile. It was her voice that everyone heard during Prayer and it was her beautiful smile that greeted everyone in the school prayer.


Veni’s grandma was busy watching TV and Veni’s mom was preparing lunch for her sweet heart. Her son. Her world.

Her phone rang as she cooked. It was a long distant uncle of hers who has called after a very long time. She took the phone and went to her room.

“Hi uncle! How are you? And how is California?” – Veni’s mom

“All good dear! Tell me whats that that you want to discuss. Any astrological queries? That’s why you have been waiting for me all these months?” – Uncle

“Yeah! You know na…I always wanted to check Veni’s horoscope. I dont want to trust anyone and everyone when it comes to astrology. Thats why was waiting for your call. Are you free now? And I know you are a busy person” – Veni’s mom

“As of now am free dear unless I get some official calls. Tell me before someone makes me busy. Tell her date of birth and time” – Uncle.

In another two minutes, he asked “Tell me! What do you want to know!” – Uncle

“She is good at studies, Is everything good related to studies?” – Veni’s mom

“Yes! Chances to be the best student and famous as well! Even after schooling, she will join her favorite course and succeed! No worries” – Uncle

“Uff!Thank God! Her dad is at times worried about her future! Glad that you told good things!” – Veni’s mom was happy.

“Then what else?” – Uncle

“She will get placed in a good job?” – Veni’s mom

“Yes. She will but that won’t be for long!” – Uncle

“Oh yeah! After marriage, with husband and kids, she might quit. Next thing is” – She continued

“Every mom’s question. Will she get married in the right age? Or do I have to do any Pooja?” – Veni’s mom.

“She will get married in the right age! A grand marriage infact” – Uncle said as she looked into her horoscope deeply. But things weren’t too good regarding her marriage life and before he could tell her she shot her next question.

“Her grandma always wants to get her married to a distant cousin whom Veni hates. Will her marriage be forced or something?” – Veni’s mom

“No. She will marry someone with all her heart…. She will fall in love” – Uncle

“Oh love marriage?! Hmmm Her dad wont protest anyway! And moreover, Veni is super smart! Even if it’s a love marriage she will choose wisely.” – Veni’s mom

As she spoke, her uncle looked into her chart on other aspects and was about to tell her something.

“Oops! Uncle! Will talk later! My mother in law is calling me. She doesn’t know about this horoscope and all. She will kill me” – Veni’s mom cut the call and the uncle kept looking at Veni’s horoscope.

“Things are going to be bad between father and daughter! There is going to be separation soon”

She cut the call? May be its not destined for her to know this. Good anyways! - Her uncle thought.
