I have udad dal batter made over the weekend for the entire week. This was a tip from MIL. I also make some idlis on Sunday and freeze or refirigerate them for the week. It is a quick dinner on a busy weekday.

Cook your pulav on a low flame with the lid on. Let it cook it water is all taken up. Turn off heat and let it rest for 15 mins. Your rice should be perfectly done.

Look up OPOS meals. There was a thread about this on IL. I have tried some recipes and it was pretty good.

You can also make a quick masala ( cook Fried onions, garlic , cilantro , ginger, tomato paste , garam masala powder , haldi) on the weekend . I make a lot and refrigerate. Use a some of this for Dal’s, veggies, potatoes , paneer .

Hi, cooking is an art which you need to learn it.
I'm not a master chef type cook but I cook anything and everything (only vegetarian though).
I would rather make fresh meals even if just simple than make huge quantities of food and store in fridge n reheat.
Tip- reheating food reduces its nutrient value.

Some tips for working women for cooking-

    1) make ginger garlic paste to last for a week and store in air tight jar jn fridge.

    2) decide the vegetables you want to cook for a whole week and buy them n on weekend you can cut vegetables which don't get oxidized like french beans, carrot, cabbage, okra, tindora, beetroot, pumpkin, cucumber, etc and store in ziploc pouches in fridge to be ready to cook for whole week.

    3) idly dosa batter - get a wet grinder small one and make a batter to last whole week - most of the breakfast problem gets solved. We make 2 days idlies n next 2 or 3 days dosas with same batter.
Remaining 1 or 2 days we make upma.

    4) upma - you can easily make a ready to cook upma mix at home and store in large quantities to last whole month. Wenever u need, jus add boiling water to the mix and your upma will be ready in 5mins.

    5. Lunch - if you carry lunch to office then i suggest you make puliyogare mix at home and store in fridge. On days when you are in hurry, jus cook white rice, add turmeric n oil n salt n add paste n your puliyogare is ready.
    6. Other lunch options - pulao/ sambar rice/ chapati n veg curries/ chitranna etc

    7. Dinner- usually we make only chapatis fresh in dinner and use same sabzi/dal madr fr lunch.
If not then will cook any simple dal

I don't think so. But I am not a dietician. My MIL has diabetics and she eat chapati everyday. But she stay away from oil and meat, egg yolks and coconut. and she eat less food overall and eat restaurant food less frequently.
