Happiness don't depend on external things. Its your internal way of thinking and choosing to be happy. If you choose your way to be happy , you can live a happy life even without modern amenities and opposite is you will still be unhappy with all luxuries. Happiness is a matter of choice!!

In young age I used to dream of luxurious life but now in old age I feel happiness is in living a simple life . There is so much happiness in giving happiness than receiving. When you cook a meal and its appreciated by the family and enjoyed by the family , you feel so happy.

We all have happy memories of our childhood. We never used to see whether our house is large or small. We feel happy int he experiences we shared as a family.

Happiness is when your friends, relatives and your family care for you and in turn when we care for them. Recently when I had a fall I came to know so many people are there who care about me. At this age we need love and affection from everyone and when we get in abundance we feel so happy. It seems God gives problems so that we will think of Him and gives problems to those whom He is fond of. At that time if we leave everything in His hands , He will take care and show a way to solve our problems. Because of the love everyone showed and with their prayers I became ok soon .

“Do not educate children to be rich ; Educate them to be happy ; So that when they grow up they will know the value of things and not just the price .“

    Dear viji,
Yes, you are right. "Simple living and high thinking," is the moola Manthra for a happy life. Material things will give happiness to us as long as we possess them.
When we give joy to others they will reciprocate the same. This will give us everlasting happiness.

    So so true!! Vijima
I just love the simplistic posts you write , its so basic and covers what people constantly need to seek in higher terminologies and seek re affirmation from others for it!
I think one thing that people should learn from your posts , Vijima, are to never complicate or over think things.
Just let everything touch you and go, and it'll be more positive than negative!!

:hello:Ok. Agreed. You have called a spade a spade. If oneid determined to be happy he or she could remain happy for ever. Well said.

2, Happiness is state of mind and independent of wealth possessions materials and titles as well. Comfortable living too fail to induce happiness for ever. Marlyn Monroe!?
    3. Absolute happiness can only be a dream as long as one continue to have desires. At best one can say he or she is satisfied about something.
But by our conduct if others are seemingly happy then let us remain so but for how long.
    4. Playing with child or baby, the other could be happy indeed.
    5. By giving alms both receiver and giver might be happy at that moment. Some gangster is happy with killing of his rival. But not for ever.
    6. So momentary happiness is possible but again that relates to mind. Thinking of future happiness one toils through the present and can never achieve the goal of happiness ever. One could remain unhappy throughout toiling for future happiness.
    7. Reciprocate happiness. Keep it in circulation like the air we breathe. If it is arrested and kept it turns stale. If something gives happiness it won’t be everlasting though it may remain evergreen in memory.
    8. Recollection or recapitulation of previous happy moments might keep one happy for the present like turning the pages of your black and white and now colour photo albums.
So be happy don’t worry - that famous popular album.
    Thanks.

    Regards.
God hands none neither happiness nor sadness it is individual’s state of mind.

    Dear Vijiakka,

Our natural tendency is to be happy always and that is what we always strive for. It is our reactions to some outward experiences over which we have no control causes disturbances in our mind resulting in not being happy. If we know how to manage our reactions to things we don't control, we can always be in a blissful state. We need to align our mind to our true Self and that is the biggest challenge.

It is true that happiness lies within. But we are always looking for it outside. There is phrase or term used 'In Pursuit of Happiness' and that indicates that we are pursuing happiness. We pursue something which is not with or besides us. We do not pursue our shadow because it is always with us.
I guess humans lack in appreciating what they have. Appreciating appreciates. If we start appreciating what we have it automatically appreciates in value. If we appreciates our friendship, its value appreciates.
