    Dear Cheeniya Sir,

    I am here to nominate the heartfelt emotions expressed by @Agatha83 in tribute to her mother in the snippet titled Goodbye Amma Dearest. She has expressed her feelings so well including her struggle to handle her as a patient. She poured every thought about her mother in this one snippet while bidding goodbye to her.

    I know her intention is not to get appreciated for her words of tribute to her mother but her words resonates so well with other adult children who have lost their mothers recently.

    Dear Viswa & Thyagarajan,

    Forty days have passed since the death of my mother and she was 88 years old when she died. So you may all wonder, why should I create an emotional drama in IL, when people as young as 20 die just like that, leaving their parents in eternal grief.
    When my mom turned 70, there was a steep deterioration in her health conditions, which saw a complete reversal of roles- she became my precious child and I her constant guardian, a change, she never understood till her death. An invisible emotional bond evolved all through the years, which when suddenly broke, shook me to the core, my aged body or mind refusing to accept the harsh reality. It was a sort of catharsis for my agitated mind, when I started writing this tribute to her. I realize it’s time for me to take hold of myself, my health and my DH.
    I am sorry if I have troubled you all in anyway, through my emotional outpourings.

    :hello:You had just in one go released the pent up emotions - a fabric Woven for several decades and that must have made you feel light.

    2. You had done the right thing and there is nothing factious or outlandish about the aggregate emotions you posted here.

    3. No need to feel sorry to your sisters and brothers in this forum for having posted here of your beloved mother’ journey to heavens. We remain with you at this hour of bereavement.

    @iyerviji
    My dear Viji
    Thank for your nomination of @Thyagarajan 's You Know Habits Die Hard
    It's a post that will invoke nostalgia in readers of his age group. People of the older generation who were accustomed to the colonial style of communication were very particular about the language. All those got eroded with the efflux of time. Today we have no time even to spell a word in full. From smoke signals to the era of abbreviation we have come a long way indeed. You have opened your account with a jolly good post indeed Viji.
    Hearing of full stop, let me digress with a personal episode. I had a friend who was very superstitious about full stop. He was deeply in love with his colleague and was in the habit of sending her letters without a full stop. It so happened that the girl's father happened to see one of these love letters. He had one look at it and told his daughter that he would never give his consent to her marrying a boy who did not even know how to punctuate his letter. He tore the letter and threw it in the bin. Incidentally, he was an English Professor in a college of repute!

    @iyerviji
    My dear Viji
    Thanks again for your nomination of @messedup 's Elder One..
    I see no reason for messedup to get worked up about her elder son. As @Srama has rightly pointed out what she is facing is more common than she thinks. I have two daughters aged 49 and 50. When they were little kids, they made my life really miserable with the differences between them. As they grew up, they became utterly lovable. As time moves on, messedup will be raving about her sons. They carry my blessings too.

    My dear Viswa
    Thank you for your nomination of @Agatha83 's Goodbye Amma Dearest
    Thank you Thyagu for seconding it.
    Death is more certain than any other events that we plan for. Adi Sankara has brought it out so beautifully in Bhaja Govindam. Despite its certainty, death never fails to depress us. When we offer our oblations to the three generations of our dead ancestors, we perform it so mechanically. Knowing how cruel death is, God has given us the healing touch of the passage of Time. I am happy to hear that Agatha has regained her composure. Life has to go on.

    Upon reading this response to @iyerviji I felt quite humbled.
    2. Your ability to crack a joke or two to any situation is awesome and entails a solid message. I agree with what you said about then learning English those days and now abbreviated twitter text.
    Thanks and Regards.
