If you can't laugh at the same joke twice why grieve for the same sadness twice? - Author unknown

I came across some modern age saint’s explanation on this and was pondering over the subject. There are varied answers to it and neither laughing for the same joke twice is bad nor grieving the same sadness is wrong. But what got me to think on the positive perspective is a small talk that happened with a colleague.

I am lucky that I have a good set of colleagues. One such nice colleague is a cool person and very fun loving. He is a fan of comic shows and he travels out of state to attend some comic shows by himself . He is a giphy expert and after he joined the organization he initiated many fun activities that one would look forward to. Recently he lost his father. As I was passing my condolences, the way he spoke about it really surprised me. It was like walking on a thin rope for me as with the big cultural difference I didn’t want to sound too emotional and at the same time didn’t want to keep it too formal. I did want to express my thoughts sincerely,

He said it was good that dad lived a happy life. I am glad that things happened fast for him and he didn’t have to be in pain much. I have enjoyed my time most with him. He always checks on me and loves to go around by himself and be himself. He was independent and stayed that way and I got to spend quality time with him. It kept me wondering what more could be fulfilling. One has lived a happy life, no complaints, no regrets, no grievances. There would have been challenges but the happy moments they count beats them all. When one lives life to the fullest with happiness. their departure makes others to recollect only the good times one had with them. Celebrating life is all it is. Live happy and leave happy. I just admired his outlook and the way he took the lifes’ events.

I was thinking about this and taking a good walk. Up in the sky, I observed a hawk being harassed by a small bird, Both flying in circles and this small bird chasing the hawk. Probably it was the bird’s nest the hawk was preying for food. The little bird was chasing the hawk continuously and trying to peck. I got to admire the little bird’s courage to fight the hawk in order to protect it’s own nest. How simply it does what it needs to do up in the air circling behind a hawk and not giving up. Another life lesson - to celebrate life some struggle may be necessary.

And this day probably had one more lesson to offer me. As I was finishing up my round near the pond I saw a flock of geese. A happy geese family waddling to the water nearby, Since the goslings were still babies they did not look pretty like their parents. But why would they bother about it. It was a one happy family moment. All together in each other’s company. Having a loving family is a blessing. Celebrate life even if there were struggles with the beautiful family one built, My day ended peacefully.

I enjoyed reading and I am ending my day peacefully too.

    @SpringB,

Thank you for this wonderful write up. I have not read a snippet written by you earlier and this might be the first. You write so well with coherent thoughts and expressions. If the purpose of life is to be happy, then, life has to be a celebration. Your colleague has practical approach about life. He seems to be enjoying life like one should and there is so much to learn from him.

We do face obstacles in life. It is like passing clouds that we see when an otherwise sunny day. When we have so much happening in our lives to count our blessings, why should we focus our attention to these obstacles? It is our attitude in life that makes or breaks our life into fun-loving or complaining life.

    Dear @SpringB,

Beautifully written. Some people are generally joyful and it is always fun to be around them. This is something to ponder about - how do they manage to stay happy? It is nice when people have had a good life and even better if the ones who are left behind see that - we have a chance to mold our own life!

This quote is something I will remind myself whenever I see myself going down that path of you know....repeating things that need to be forgotten in my head. Thank you for that!

    Dear @SpringB,
Your colleague's dad was lucky. No one wants to live a wretched life.
Life is a celebration indeed as it is for once only. It is all up to us how we take it. At the same time, we have feelings too. Life is a celebration for those who think and tragedy for those who feel.

You have expressed it very beautifully.

Among my mom and her siblings my mom is this bindas person. She's totally a different person when compared to others. She has this principle in life live for the moment. Never much worried about her challenges. She will laugh repeatedly at same jokes . In fact her laughter is quite famous in the family. The moment she's around everyone is laughing at something or the other and hers will be that loudest laughter. No BP no sugar . Her secret to her health is her laughter and happiness.

So what your colleague said I can relate to that in my mom. .

And regarding the hawk and small bird : a nice conclusion drawn from the story..

Nice snippet to start my day with. .

:hello: A super read with heartwarming lessons handing out a panoramic experience of my primitive days in my dad’s village in Deep South India. Beautifully woven with illustration of a battle beneath the sky and over a lake that reflects the happening below azure sky.
    Thanks and Regards.

The geese's happiness is baased on ignorance that there is every chance if ut ewnding up in a restaurant menu, Iyrs has ti be based on knowledge that this is the only life we have and afterlife and rebirth are just fiction unless and until there existence is proved. So let us not fritter away this one precious life. Let us get the maximum juice out of it. Let us celebrate it.
