The above picture is a gag-greeting with Maury P. on the card.
In America we had a TV show called "The Maury Povich Show", host: Maury Povich. In each episode of this day-time entertainment, guests will come on stage, describe their tumultuous lives, and sometimes, even fights will breakout on stage (with audience cheering their favorites) and security guards jumping in to separate the combatants..etc..

In every show there will be the problem of confirming paternity. By the terms&conditions of the show, everyone would have given up their sample for DNA testing. And Maury would announce who's the dad towards the end of the show. Sometimes the combatants will hug, and the man would promise to send in child support cheques. Sometimes, s/he'd walk off the stage in disgust/shame/anger/vindication etc... Thoroughly, and most decidedly, low brow. However, if you must see an episode, here is the link. And another.

    Thank you the reply SpringB.
Dads were/are very much involved kid's life. Dads are the pillars in the family. Just because they are/were the primary earning member and most of their time is gone in bringing that money to the house we can't deny their involvement. Involvement doesn't mean changing diapers and taking turns to take care of the kid while the wife also wants to make a career. Emotional involvement/support is something which was very much present in those days.
    Agreed on this point.

Yes this is very cute.. And I have read about the sea horses. :)

Many guests of Maury Povich came from minority communities; and quite often MP was accused of subliminal propaganda to disparage the culture/lifestyle of one community. In recent TV shows, there is this:

Chocolate for Father's day ? In America it is usually socks, gloves, or tools. Wealthy people would give gifts of Hobby accessories: fishing gear, for example. Those whose father had passed on, people would visit the cemetery with flowers, or do it some other way, like go to his favorite restaurant, and raise a glass of wine in toast for him.

I know not a great gift for a sugar patient.
My gifting intention was a spontaneous one just so that he after influenced by various posts on facebook and whatsapp dad started feeling daughters didn't give a gift .
Difficult to find a hobby shop at that time so settled with a chocolate.:grin: ultimately I was the one who enjoyed the chocolate bar because he took a piece out of formality..

And I understand perfectly what moral policing is.You don’t have to use it only if it fits your Wikipedia definition.

Why do we need birthdays and anniversaries. Isnt each day special?
If everyday is special, special loses its meaning.
You can tell your parents you love them everyday, but without action (being there for them, taking care of them) it loses its meaning.
Similarly, if you are there for them every single day - everyone needs a reminder that it is not transactional and it is coming from a place of love and not duty and responsibility.
