    Hello ILs,

My friend recently bought a house. She wants to perform gruhapravesh and vastu shanti pooja but her husband does not believe in it. But he asked her to perform the puja if she wants to alone. She is very depressed.

Can a woman perform these rituals without her husband?

    Thanks
    IHH

    Hi IHH,

As told by elders all married person should do the homas and pooja as a couple, even the purohits will say if your friend approach them. Your friend can ask any of the elderly couples at home like her parents or her in-laws or even their elder sibling couples sit for pooja and do for their behalf. As in Ramayana also , during Ashwamedha yagam Ram was not supposed to sit alone and perform Homa and Pooja so, they made Golden idol of Sita to perform the same. I may not be very correct , just said as per my knowledge. Elders in the group can suggest well , will wait for their response too. Hope all goes well...!!

    Yours Loving
    PriyaSudheer.

It is not compulsory to do homa for newly married. Most of the people do general puja at the temples. Only during Gruha pravesha people do homa and Satyanarayana puja at home.Yes it is possible to do puja without their partner. Because the partner may have work on that time. It is not possible for everyone. There are priciples doing pooja without partner is also done. Ask pandit near you to clear the doubts.

Hiiii.....Doing the pooja reflects the positive energy in the house. The one who do
    1.who do pooja(pandit)
2.who perform pooja rituals(he or she or owner)
3.one who see or listens the pooja(audience)
The above three will get the same benefit, no inequality to god.
Who concentrate on puja will be benefited, and their body get energised.
Even though, according to the ritual both wife and husband sit for gruhapravesha..there are also alternative things to do puja with single person it is not a problem for puja.
Don't hesitate to do puja...just carry on with your possible ways..Everything will be good.

    Cheers..
