This gives complete security to the woman, no doubt. But there's a flipside to this.
Let me narrate what happened in the family:
The girl is not employed. The guy earns well. The girl has totally control of everything. Credit card, bank account etc etc. Some turbulence in the marriage. In laws issues etc etc. The girl on the pretext of studying for some exam (so that she can start her career) moves back to the city where she was brought up, quite far from husband's city. She said that instead of staying with parents it's better she stays close to her coaching class so that she can study. All accepted. Husband who is earning well trusts her with the money and doesn't question her expenditure. Gets a new rented place for her close to coaching class, she spends for her living etc he doesn't question. All he does is occasional visits to that city to be with wife and kid. All is well until one day the kid reveals about mommy's EMA to dad.
It ended in a divorce after usual drama. Off course not only this being the reason. Lot of other usual marriage things were the reason for the divorce.
One of his regrets is "trusting her with his money ".

Okay this doesn't happen in every case. But this can also happen in few cases.

Is it considered an equally bad thing when a girl strays, as 'serious' as when a guy strays? whether or not the tree made a sound

This story might also give hope to some spouses trapped in an unhappy marriage. The thinking would run to : “if I set her/him up in a far enuf away town, and give some money, would s/he leave me ?”

Hard to comment on the culpability of wood seekers in the forest.

Amulet, like I was compelled to observe earlier, you are chaala (very) too much. : )

I do venture this question occasionally, often when there is no bone to chew about Thing1, 2. I doubt I will be able to ask this with a straight face the next time. : )

I was not constipated then maybe !
I am curious as to how your older colleague was comfortable engaging in this sleepover with you around.
I don’t think I could sleep the first night my roommates BF stayed over in her room.
