I do want to turn like my mother.

    She would deal everything smilingly.

She has been more like a friend to me

Whole colony adored her, wish I can be like her :(

Anyone can tell that we are mother daughter. We both are very very simple. She depend more on my father for every little thing and I too have this in me. The difference is my h don't pamper me like my father do to her by helping her in all the tasks and taking her out with him. My h want me to become independent and I am confused on how to as I always seen dependent mom.

    @hermitcrab
Cant thank you enough for this thread.
I never wondered if I was turning into my mom, until I saw this thread.
Once I started thinking, I realised that I do not remember how my mum yelled at me, how she used to scold me etc.
All I remember is how welcoming she was, how warm her hug was, how my friends loved her and how tasty her food was.
Next week is her death anniversary.
If a mother can pass away leaving just the beautiful memories for her children to remember about her - yes I want to be like her.
I now consciously practice patience, smiling more, chatting on nonsense stuff with kids because I want them to remember me as a mumma bear not as a yelling demon - mumma bear just how me and my friends now mourn her loss.

My mother and her sister are extreme opposite in character, wayofthinking or in patience. So not all women turn to their mother. I doubt whether genes contribute to behaviours of a person.

Very true in most cases. I have come across plenty and daughters do carry both the good and bad sides of their mothers, from my experience.

    I am half way there.
Sometimes I hear myself and feel like I heard my mom.

My children say' you are turning into nani '.

Unfortunately, I seem to be copying most of her annoying habits too.:worried:

You are so right about the hands @Amulet
My mom had beautiful hands that she spoilt them working hard and also putting her hand in mud ( gardening ) all the time.
I seem to be following her hobbies and my hands look like her hands about 20 years back. I better get some good hand lotion and gloves for myself.

    Very nice thought @jskls
I too think that my mother has so many great qualities.
She can talk to maid to president with ease and same compassion, intellect

I wish I as beautiful and as compassionate as kind

I do not match her kindness, generosity, steadfastness by her value- value

    Soo soo swet @messedup
Your parents have such nice relationship
Hope yours turns out as nice as hers

One shouldn't worry about who is dependent on whom
If I had a cherished lover, I will forfeit all my reins
