Loved this tribute of yours for your MIL.
Your MIL is indeed a great soul . Such a practical approach of your MIL is what is needed in life .
Very well written. No doubt you got a great MIL but I wouldn't say that is luck alone but it's your attitude to see the good in her which most of them(us) fail to see in their MILs.

    Beautiful snippet. :)

An amalgam of universities & a Jayaspedia43 , a repository in dozen volumes could be easily larger than testaments. Truly a Mala of kadambam -a strung hodge-podge.
It is clearly established from your regular contributions here, one’s home and kitchen are originators of all kinds of business management principles or and dogmas. You can be indeed called Guru of Gurus of attitudes.
God awards understanding Mils & DILs Crowning glories.

:hello: Your above hounding befits your foot note quote:

A little bit of slope makes up for a lot of y-intercepts.

Moms are moms & Dils are DILs but Mom = MIL SELDOM ONE FINDS.
GOD - is it in your scheme of things MOM UNEQUAL to MIL?

    Dear Shri Thyagarajan ,
My MIL deserves even better tributes. It is her inquisitiveness, her thirst for knowledge, her way of keeping herself in the position of others, her strong views in certain areas that attracted me.I had five sisters of my own and seven cousin siters. We were all brought up together. All the marriages were conducted in our house. I had seen my cousins and sisters interchanging lots of complaints about their MIL s when they net occasionally in our house. My Amma used to pacify everyone and advised them to set aside differences. I was the youngest one. When my sisters asked 'How is your MIL?'.I told them there is a lot to learn from her.My sisters chided me saying that I was saying so just to induce jealousy.
But when they visited our house, they started liking her.Whenever my sisters came home, my MIl would cheerfully talk to them , go to the kitchen to prepare tiffin, coffee etc specifically advising me" there may be so many confidential things to talk bet sisters,Take her to your room and have a free talk."This type of behaviour cannot be expected from many MILs."
The very first advice she gave me was" if you don't like any of my talk, or behaviour, come and tell me and not to others. There are people to kindle hatred and they can't tolerate if there is perfect understanding bet MIL and DIL."I have seen in many shops " tell the negatives to us and positives to others".( Niraikalai elloridamum sollungal. Kuraikalai engalidam mattum sollungal".
We have discussed so many matters personally ,she never hesitated to seek my advice when there was some crisis in my husband's sister's family. This mutual respect and give and take is what is needed for the health of family life. All other assets are nothing when compared to this perfect understanding.I only wish that similar relationship that exists between myself and my DIL should continue for ever.

So true. We also should learn to see the positive side.
