    :hello:@satchitananda @GeetaKashyap
I agree we got roads where there was not any, there are bus routes now which were there before. We have so many fly overs and subways built where there were none. We fly new routes previously only helicopter or by rail or road. In spite of crying hoarse all are corrupt at the helm or and at ever level in hierarchy, we still got so much in goody goody India.
    2. What I wonder is, if so much swallowed by thirsty bureaucrats and politicians yet substantial progress could be made, bridges constructed, balance of trade improved and overall picture looks bloomy though opposition gives gloomy reports on account of raffle deal or some other fraudulent deal .
    3. Whoever comes to power Ravana or Rama - I will be doing my routine duties chores to have my grub. I work more time to get same level of satisfaction. GDP more or less, a common man will have to strive to eke out a living and sleep!
    4. I remembered Birbal proving emperor Akbar that corrupt will remain corrupt wherever they are. A corrupt man was found and relocated to shores to help fisherfolk. King and minister were watching him from behind a boat at distance.
They could clearly see his articulation and group of fisher folk fork out some currency notes to him .
Birbal was asked to rush to find out. The fishermen told Birbal that our venturing into the sea would disturb his work of counting the waves as ordered by the King, and to permit them he demanded bribe.
The king who had already reached the spot heard all this and said to Birbal “Yes. You are once again proved correct. We can’t correct corruption.!?!
Anyway it is our duty to cry victorious “Bharatha Matha Ki jai “. Discussion or no discussion circus goes on unhindered, regressive progress etc. demote or promote Nation is built brick by brick .
God is in-built in every brick and edifice the Nation madeof.

Dear Madam, Not only in Indus ladies, even in our All India Bank Groups moderators discourage publishing articles on politics.Actually it a taboo. If given free hand, many would analyse politics well.
Very often Choosing the candidate is compared to Hostel tiffin offered during breakfast. I have read the following in 1990 when my son was in Engg College.
    The message is as under:-
In a hostel canteen, they served upma for breakfast everyday. Most of the students got sick of that upma and raised the issue to the warden and asked to change the dish.
However there were 20 out of 100 students who never ever tasted anything else other than upma and they were scared of having any other tiffin for change.
The hostel warden took note of the students' feelings.Warden gave a list of dishes for breakfast and upma was one of the choices. The warden decided to select the tiffin by a voting process and asked students to vote.

Those 20 people religiously chose upma and didn't even bother to look other options. Now remaining 80 people didn't coordinate well.
    18 people chose dosa,
    16 people chose roti,
    14 people chose idly,
12 people chose bread & butter,
    10 people chose pongal and
    10 people chose noodles.
    upma became the breakfast again.
Madam, you have touched upon a great sensitive topic
    in a lighter vein.The subject
is a matter of research among Economists, Sociologists and psychologists for long. Money and muscle power sometimes have no influence at all.
As long as around 30% of the people think that known devil is better and "kalaakkaai in the hand is better than palaakkaai in the market(Kalaakkaai is a cheap vegetable out of which only pickle can be prepared and palaakkaai is jackfruit with around 200 sweet ,tasty jacklets .
The present Govt may not be really good but it is neither too bad. Some people who do not want to experiment on any new thing have their choice for a better evil.
On many occasions, the party that wins may not have many positive traits but the opposition has many negative trends which help the mediocre win.

This time I was more interested in studying articles about the social patterns of behaviour of various groups in society. But the previous day to polling my husband fell down and had multiple fracture in his right hand. We were running to scan centre, busy in taking CT and MRI scans and we could not go to polling booth at all, to exercise our duty, from which we have never swerved all these years.
Poll survey is an interesting subject and we will be surprised to see many winners do not possess a single point for normally
considering them as fit on any account. It will be mostly like Upma being the winner, notwithstanding the dislike expressed by many.

    Hey, the logic is true, but then which 60-70 percent votes makes all the difference there;
If you notice the voting break ups, within the ruling party and opposition generally the vote ratio overall is around the same, if the additional 30 percent ( which mostly is the working class, poor or middle class had voted the scales of winners/losers could have completely done a U-turn!

Further, every vote is theoretically and correctly given the same importance, however, sub-consciously all of us do believe that educated votes make a difference... and those are the ones that usually are in a minority!!
Just saying... an indepth analysis is gonna be interesting on this :)

    :hello:that is double distilled truth.
    2. When nothing better to ckoose, pickle with thair chadam does world of good in all seasons.
    3. I enjoyed canteen democracy as i was a member in menu committee. There too corruption. Officialas entrusted to procure on annual contract basis on basis of limited tender enquiry. They ensured competition is limited or none at all.
    Thanks & regards.
God's office is also busy in counting athmas pavam & punyam (karma + & - ).

:hello: “The donkey elected in jubilation STANDS ON a pedestal” reminds me of dramatist turned politician late CHO RAMASAMY who used the image of donkey in many ways while cartooning the political ethos prevailing during his time in his weekly or fortnightly magazine.

    2. Once during an annual gathering from behind the curtain on the stage, he gave a novel welcome address in cracked voice to a distinguished vip hidden behind without mentioning name of vip. He briefly mentioned vip’s forefathers helping various social causes from time immemorial and their recent foray into politics.

    3. He requested the huge gathering to join hands standing up - as the large satin curtain raises “as a mark of welcome and respect to vip”.

    4. The audience risen up like Mexican wave clapping including me as the curtain raised by and by to the deafening applause that went non stop in standing ovation.

    5. Acknowledging this marvellous welcome, the vip alone on stage under focused light as cynosure, in his stentorian voice repeatedly BRAYED shaking its vertically up & down.
    YES YOU HAVE GUESSED RIGHTLY.
    IT WAS A ROBUST DONKEY.

God makes donkeys & monkeys too too rich!

:roflmao: Cho was an extremely witty political commentator. Due to my poor Tamil language skill, I couldn't enjoy his works fully but from whatever I came across in translated/quoted versions, his exceptional creativity was unmissable!
