This is such a painful time; Just watched a clip on a news show, wherein a Gentleman whose son and his entire family has been wiped off, saying the terror act is against humanity and no particular community.
May all the victims Rest in Peace!

May all this mindless hate not spread further..

Thanks a million for remembering us on this time of tragedy.
We all are safe. But we are yet to be normal here.
It pains a lot to see all this. I came here on vacation, but lost all the mood even to sit or sleep at home. The food taste bitter, and it feels horrible even to walk on the streets.

We have suffered a 30 year long bitter war, and went through all such horrible incidents in the past. But this decade long peaceful life has changed us too emotional and vulnerable today.

Except for prayers, what else we can do now?

I will fly back on Friday, for sure with a heavy heart this time.

    • That Islam is really a religion of peace and sacrifice and will always be.
    • That voilent verses that are said to be mentioned in Quran, on several social media sites are fake. (Only a muslim who has understood the meaning and messages of Quran knows it.)
    • Quran forbids insulting the rights of a person practicing other religion. Forbids insulting other religious deities.
    • Quran forbids incest relationships. (This I mentioned because many people think that it is written in Quran that such things are allowed. Well its not.)
    • Quran preaches to help other people in need. Prophet Muhammad has been respected so Highly in our religion is because He has helped people in any way he could (so many non muslims).
    • Prophet Muhammad did not have sexual relations with a nine year old girl. This has been going on sites too. These are just terrible lies made to provoke people against the religion.
    • Islam was one of the first religions to ensure women rights. Women have been allowed divorce, second marriages, since a time when a girl child was being burried in other places.
    • Practice of F.G.M (Female Genital Mutilation) is NOT mentioned in Quran. It was made up by sadistic people and spread in the name of Islam.
    • Quran or Islam do not preach ridiculous things like rape or murder. The people who do this in the name of Islam are complete liars. No religion preaches such disgusting acts. Please stop believing them.
    • The reason why men can have four wives is very old. In those days, the ratio of women to men was high. Attackers generally conquered a region and mistreated women who had been widowed or were unmarried. Therefore it was allowed for men to marry multiple times to SAVE these women. It is said that rivals had certain “rules” in times of war and therefore these women, generally were safe. It was also made clear that if the men wished to marry helpless women it would only be after the consent of his other wife(ves).
    • The reason why most women were married off to their cousins was because families trusted no one when it came to safety of women. Again. War times. It is not a rule to marry women to their family members. Like I said, incest relationships are prohibited.
    • Women have always been allowed a legitimate education and have been allowed to earn their own bread. Prophet’s wives had been preachers, who travelled to other places too. They have been caravan traders, doctors and even heads of several regions. The reason that their names are never mentioned was to ensure their safety. Women workers or students were often identified as a ‘daughter’ or a ‘sister’ or a ‘wife’ to someone. Like I said earlier: Times of war.
    • Burqa was introduced to keep the identity of a woman safe from leering men. Also, since it was mostly dessert during the time it also acted as a protector from sun and sand.
    • Kafir in Quran is referred to a person who doesn't believe in ANY religion. In any form of deity. And no. It does not encourage muslims to kill a kafir.
    • In no place is this ridiculous thing mentioned:
If you succeed to kill a Kafir, you will be given the highest place in heaven with 72 beautiful virgins to look after you. Utter lies. Lies crafted to brainwash people.

    • Bakra Eid is not a compulsion. People who can afford a goat or wish to make charity celebrate it. This has been mentioned in the Quran.
    • The verses in the Quran are of a very very ancient arabic language. It is hard to grasp the deep meaning behind the metaphors therefore people who misread, mislead.
Kill the demon who does not believe in the power of Allah. (This line has been written for example, it not an exact line from Quran. I am just giving you a gist of the metaphors.) would be interpretedas: Kill a person who does not follow Islam. When it actually means: Kill the demon (inside you) who doubts the power of Allah. It is written for people going through dark times because they doubt in the existence of Allah.

    • There is science and logic behind everything that is written Quran. As someone who has a curious itch to know everything, and the reason behind them, I can assure you. For example: Offering namaz in specific times of day has proven health benefits in regard to both, body and mind.
    • Lastly, ISIS, Al Qaeda, etc. are mainly non muslims institutions. Yes. You read it correctly. These people are Wahabis. They trap young muslim boys in lieu of making them ready for a “place in heaven.” Wahabis are very different from Muslims. They are terrorizing the world in the name of Islam. These groups generally have a political reason behind their attacks not religious. They want to terrorize different countries’ governments in order to get crazy amounts of ransom.
Note: I am not a hardcore religious person. I deeply respect other religions and I have practiced them too. I come from a place where women are not treated as objects, not denied their rights to education but are treated as equals. But as someone who has read and understood Quran, I wish that people knew these things about it.

Alas, changing times have lead to people violating certain liberal things in Islam such as second marriages, extortion of animals on Bakra Eid, oppressing women and what not. I will never deny these facts. Yes, there are men or families who force rules upon the female members to wear a burqa or follow other stupid practices. So many preachers have taken it too far by instilling fear in the hearts of poorly knowledged people that if they will not comply Allah will punish them, put them in hell. Yes these people clearly are not good. I hate them too. There were bad people who were muslims back in medieval times and there are bad people now. But it shouldn't mean that you judge all muslims around the world because of them. There are muslim brothers and sisters who practice Islam the way it is meant to be. Not all Islamic schools or Madrassas preach extremism. I have been to one. And I have been taught to help, cherish, and respect everyone and everything that is righteous. Peace. May Allah be with you, brothers and sisters.

I don't believe it! I do it everyday and when my waist bend so much, my face and shoulder are closer to the ground as well. Only when I see your hair touching the floor, face looking at your knees, I will believe it. Don't blame it on camera on the ground.

By the way, keeping feet closer to each other strains the back so much. You must try spreading your feet a little further and focus your attention bending your waist.

What a lovely coincidence! What kind of tree is it? A mandarin orange tree I planted 3 years ago is flowering for the first time this spring. I'd made a mental note to write in the positivity thread but couldn't make time. Looks like we'll get some oranges this year. : )
