    Love them all!:hearteyes:

    As the heat is intense here, I hate the idea of spending more time in the kitchen. So I chose to prepare easy Doodhi halwa which is my husband & son's favourite sweet!

    Thanks a lot Geeta for lending me your Time Machine to travel back to my childhood over seven decades ago! Chandamama came in Tamil bearing the name of Ambulimama. Even during my examinations, I used to set aside my text books and read Ambulimama. My dad would wait patiently for me to finish it and would go to his easy chair with the book after I finished it. Initially there used be a tussle between me and him as to who would read it first and this issue got settled once and for all after my dear mum gave him a big piece of her mind. Those were the days!

    During summer vacations we(me and my bro) used to take comics on rent of 25 paise to 50 paise or a rupee or two. We used to read many comics in a day. I was a real fun.

    @GeetaKashyap
    Wow. You took me to childhood days. I used to read Ambulimmama, more for the bright and happy illustrations. This, with Enid Blyton, and playing 7 stones, and "pallamguzhi",and throwing up one, two, and three tamarind seeds up in the air and taking one from the ground, improved our coordination skills while keeping us cool inside duting hot summer vacations.

    Then it was the hopscotch at the backyard, or the quadrangle, skipping rope, for active games.

    I too recall running errands for small amounts of curry leaves, coconut pieces, and going to the mill with amma to help in catching the hot cloth that pours the ground atta into the canister.

    Yep. Those were the days.
    Thanks for taking me down memory lane.

    With a super busy week and weekend how I was waiting for the weekend to read this interesting one. I saw that title and left it to weekend because I knew something Exciting would definitely be there by Geetha.. :hearteyes::grinning:
    I'm not an avid reader ,novels never excited me . But I always read small comics.. Chandamama, tinkle,chacha choudary,Amar Chitra Katha and few moral stories.. .
    Felt nostalgic reading your snippet.. Good one... :blush::blush:
