When I had to ask that question "...who is the oddest of them all ?", I think about the dichotomy: bothersome-odd versus secretly-odd. And feel just fine. Perhaps I need to get older still.
    Yes. Happy weekend.

@Rihana, Your response-advice on that father misbehaving in old age is an excellent one. Self made old people are more likely to become ornery in old age: can't imagine anyone could have useful advice, or take instructions from doctors, daughters , and others, about keeping Blood sugar, BP under control.

That OP's (@priyajagadeesh) father seems enamoured with money and investments, and bent on foisting the classic white elephant of a landed desi property on NRI son as well. And asking the child to finance that boondoggle too. Sad situation.

The 10 point advisory to the money-enamoured mad, reminds me of Moses:

Is this a scheme, a trap, to get the kind souls of IL to come out and post helpful suggestions for dealing with the malaise ?
    OR
    Is this for real ?
When people have trouble counting, I'd be tempted to suggest a binge-watch of sesame street episodes of The Count.

I had watched them all with my children.... and the Count haunts me now, long long after my children had got good at counting, and left home.

Since OP there was not willing to go with many many suggestions given there and hell bent in going with her desires of being his friend I did "Unwatch thread". Then after a couple of days to pass some time I thought I will go to that thread and read the replies. Could not find the thread. I searched in many ways, even in my alerts . Is it like once I unwatch a thread I can never go back ?

If you want, You can check any unwatched thread again but That dentist thread was deleted permanently from IL forums that's why you didn't find that thread.

    Intervene and do what?

Job of admins is to maintain a forum where basic etiquette and rules are mostly followed in letter and spirit. Alleviating anxiety of readers or addressing dire self-destructive urges of posters is well beyond what they can do knowing only email address and IP address of the poster.
