Naah... Amulet is searching and searching in youtube to not much avail for who/what is this Jayant Kripalani person/effect. Was nice to read about him. Doordarshan was something.
Yes, indeed. I was/am clueless. When this happens (often w.r.t. desi memes) all I can say is "never mind".
Placing it here to read it again ... Rational Madness - The Negative Psychologist We live in an age where the rational explanation is king, and this is doing us no good at all. Jung made this observation sixty years ago and if it was true then, it is a hundred times truer today. What Jung was saying, to put it very simply, is that ‘it is not clever to be clever’ and if this sounds absurd or perverse in some way, then that is in itself an indication of just how little perspective we have on rationality, of how utterly blind we are to the limitations of reason. The point is not that rational thought is invalid, or ‘bad,’ but rather that is has a limited domain of applicability, so that if we forget this limitedness, and treat thought as though it has universal applicability, then we inevitably find ourselves caught up in all sorts of bizarre contradictions.
On from-nowhere cross-talk, when-some memory, we friends indulge in bachpan ke yaadein recitals on whatsapp. Some odd gaana or iconic advertisement (hamara bajaj) in doordarshan glimpse. All of us seem to remember quite a lot of the childhood tv telecast. With cable, parents grew worried that kids would abandon culture and manners. With Baywatch, some anxious parents even protested to cut off or sabotage dish to protect the tender minds. We all turned out okay by doordarshan, progressed into cable, disenchanted of the Baywatch surf.
Hehe! Typed a novalis-styled jinjoba reply then removed family (funny) details (online wonline koi sun lega).
Our mutual friend writes her quick responses in some email draft folder, and sits/muses on it for a bit, and then posts. That way she doesn't lose all those wonderfully spontaneous outbursts. Those that are not-posted can be enjoyed in a later reading. Tsunami, eh? You must write an adaptation of Shakespeare, and call it "Taming of the Tsunami". Making Ghee could be a scene in that play.
