Our real life story is like a TV serial having incidents like accident, murder, way laying and what not except love marriage in our immediate family.

As we both grew up in the same city some people think ours is a love marriage. When I was studying in seventh standard we both stayed in opposite houses, but I couldn’t remember ever seeing him.

I was the sixth child to my parents and have one younger sister and I have only one brother. After four girls my brother was born and among the four elder sisters the third and fourth sisters died during infancy. The second sister died in fire accident when she was thirty two leaving five children aged between 11 and 3.

The eldest sister died at the age of 48 due to massive heart attack.

My hubby was the third child to his parents after two girls. But his second sister died when she was nine year old. His eldest sister lived up to ninety years and initially she was married to a widower with one girl child who was a lawyer who later became public prosecutor and then magistrate.

We have rapport with all relatives both from my hubby’s and my side.

We have witnessed two communal riots in our life. We had crossed many a hurdles in our life and in spite of it due to God’s Grace we were able to take all challenges in our stride and bring up our three children and make them stand on their own feet. My mil had psychiatric problem nearly for 15 years and was under medication constantly. I was also working, But we managed with our children's cooperation. Now we are leading a peaceful and contented life due to God’s Grace.

There is no shortcut to a fulfilling and contented life except patience, perseverance, and hard work.

I am sharing Some incidents in our life which I have shared in IL for those who newly joined in IL.

    PS

Story of a killer nine yard sari!

    A murder in our family
My beloved hubby ran for his life twice.

Dear Pushpa, Thanks for sharing once again.Your snippet dragged me a long way through my life journey. Thanks for kindling nostalgia.

If we turn the pages of our life again and place ourselves under the same circumstances now, we wonder whether we will be able to come out as successfully as we did.I have prepared a 'memoirs' compiling all the events, both good and bad that happened in our lives before and after marriage, the lessons learnt, mistakes committed and how better we might have handled the situation, how unknown forces were behind our success, the force of destiny and how we cannot take all the challenges and how we had to accept and so on.I have given the spirally bound copies, nearly 200 pages. to my daughter and son to be passed on to their children. That was the primary gift to our children during my husband's 80th Birth day.It is more valuable than any other property ,jewels or Bank deposits that we may bequeathe to them.We are learners for ever.

Can you avoid being examined in your life ?Unknowingly all of us are subjecting

ourselves to various examinations.. Exams do not stop with board/college level. There are entrance tests, interviews, annual assessments at
workplaces, maximisation of achievable targets year after year. The puzzles and
conflicts may relate to choice of career plans, getting into wedlocks, financial
commitments regarding acquisition of property or business.
Every match for the sportsman, every performance for the artist,
every election for the politician, every dinner for the cook,
the treatment of each patient for the doctor, mother’s day in day out duties in
home management and child upbringing -all are real life examinations tagged with
    success/failure.

Not to talk of patients who undergo clinical examination and await the results
anxiously praying for the absence of dreadful ailments.

There is no dearth of such eventful examinations.
As every March passes on, I am reminded of all these things.Only thing Board exams are tagged with result and there may be some bar in going to the next standard.
In life's quiz programme, you are being pushed above, infant to childhood to adolescence to adult to senile seniorship-we are simply pushed to the next level without any bar.Until our final journey we are put to tests by the quiz master, the Destiny or God whichever name we give. There are pleasant breezy sessions, storms and tornados , but we are not allowed to withdraw from the session. From cradle to coffin we have to undergo trials and turbulances. Results are probably announced by way of imprints that are carried on to the next Janma. Punarapi Jananam Punarapi maranam -------
endless !No pass! No fail! No certificates or rewards! Our experiences ,birth after birth talk of our rankings, how we have been assessed and the why of it we may never know at all. What a life!

True, Mami. Sometimes when we think back to the various incidents in our lives, they seem so surreal. It feels like we are watching some drama on TV!

    Dear PS Madam,
Yes, if we look back.... Our life is full of pluses and minuses. It is a cocktail of both sad and happy moments. Nobody need tell us how to take happy moments. Sad.... Yes we need strength. A lot depends on our attitude. I firmly believe in one thing.... When strength is the only option we do become strong.
Thank you for a good blog.

    Dear PS maam,
thanks for sharing such insights into your life. I had already read some of the earlier blogs and wonder at the tenacity dispayed at all stages. Finally, it is so endearing to hear that with all the ups and downs, life is now peaceful with sense of contentment, which is the ultimate goal.

    Dear Jaya,
Thank you for your fb and feel happy that the snippet kindled past nostalgic memories of your life journey.

I have also maintained a diary and later I have written my autobiography and shared it with my near and dear ones including my cousins hoping that they might learn something from our life.
Life is neither a bed of roses nor a bed of thorns.

Though we were not born with a silver spoon in our mouth now with God's grace and our hard work now we are eating in silver plates.

    Dear Shyamala,
Thank you for your appreciation. It depends on the individual's mindset and strength to face life's challenges and cope up with it. People who have equilibrium have the will power to keep their mind calm.
