Episode 3:

With these incidents, Vidhya forget to see the Gift Vidharth gave to her Vinaya noticed and mimed her to ask what was that. She said that it was provided by Vidharth to her and opened the Gift. IT was a beautiful watch with a Heart shaped Dial with a word “V” imprinted inside the base of the dial.

She later realized the unexpected kiss she received from Vidharth and was not able to feel that happiest moment too.

Viswa was looking at the way the sisters left and when Vinaya turned back to see him, he waved a Bye with a smiling face.

Vinaya looked at Viswa with a smiling face and Vidhya understood that and gave a small hit on her head, "Come on, What's this? Stupid"

Vinaya mimed and said, "I thought he is your Guy, but you slapped him why?"

Vidhya : "I told you na , he is not my guy and now come along with me. Don't say anything to Amma, Appa ,Ok"

She agreed with Vinaya and went to the auditorium.

Viswa took his way and met his friend Vijay who was approaching towards him. He seems to be watching everything from a distance and a thick friend for Viswa.

Vijay: "At last you made it and got the slap back"

Viswa: "You dude, you were watching everything, She touched me da"

Vijay: "Are you nuts? You got a slap and feeling happy for her to have touched you"

Viswa: "Hey, the same comment she told me when I proposed her. At last I made it" and gestured by hitting him.

Vijay : "Hey... Aiyoo, Aiyoo", he hit his head self .

Viswa was showing a happy face on achieving something he was longing for years.

Vijay: "This will not work out da. Come on dude. Don't you feel this Stupid. She is elder than you, she already has a boyfriend"

Viswa face was glowing in happiness, "Dei Machaan (Way of addressing close friends), There is nothing wrong, how many celebrities have married people younger than them, you know. Tendulkar, Aishwarya -Abhishek , Actress Sneha - Prasanna, Aishwarya - Dhanush, and the list goes on..."


Vijay : "So you want to follow them. Don't you have your own thought for self, instead looking for examples"

Viswa : "No da. Since you asked I quoted examples. I am not a celebrity, but always want to be a VIP for Vidhya"

Vijay : " It's up to you. I never thought you are this much serious .Do you think, it is possible ? She is already committed"

Viswa: “Don’t know machan, but I can’t stop thinking about her. Whenever I close my eyes, her face always comes infront of me. I don’t find age to be a barrier da. More over, I look elder than her na. It’s between me and her and not really required to bother about others thoughts”

Viswa and Vijay are childhood friends and they did their schooling and continuing their college together. Viswa met Vidhya in the college and had a crush on her. For a couple of months he never knew that she is a senior girl and along with Vijay he use to follow her in many places other than class rooms. He frequently see her in canteen and watch the teasing drama between Vidharth and Vidhya's team. This does not stop him in looking at her beauty. He use to admire her for her dressing sense, the all time smile that covers her face. He enjoyed each and every peace of her activity and he could not take off his eyes from her. He always admires her dressing sense, her loosened hair flowing over her shoulders, the way she use to eat her food by not showing a single teeth. Vijay listens to all his craps and was also supporting him. When they came to know that she belongs to second year, It was an hour shock for Viswa. Yes, just an hour, coz he took that one hour to conclude that age is not going to be an issue if he really loves her. It was not a crush, nor an infatuation he had on her. He firmly told Vijay that he loves her.Vijay could not stop him and before he could take the next step, Vidharth proposed her and it was a another shock to him. While Vijay was thinking old about the old stories, Viswa brought him back to his senses.

Viswa : "Dei Machaan , what happened... Flashback ? I should think about all those... "

Vijay : "Hmm.. Dude, I care for you and I don’t want you to get disappointed da. I agree that Age difference is not a matter at all these days. But she is committed. Now also you have time. Please rethink. Anyway, she will not be coming to college here after. You can easily forget her, concentrate on your studies, and complete it. You are good in studies, concentrate well to aim for a rank holder da. You look handsome; there are girls at your back in this college itself longing for your site. Why can't you choose one? Better to accept the people who love you truly than whom you love. "

Viswa was not in a mood to listen to anything and was in his own world and by then Pavithra from Communication department reached towards them. She hesitantly started "Viswa, Can I have five minutes of your time please?"

Vijay understood that and started to leave and Viswa stopped him. "It's Ok Machan. You stay here"

Pavithra: "I would like to talk to you in private", she told softly and Vijay left the place before Viswa could stop him.

Pavithra: "Viswa, Actually..", she dragged her words and Viswa got irritated , "See what's there between me and you. I am not from your department too to help you out in any way"

Pavithra:" Viswa, I am not here to ask you for any help, let me come straight to the point. I sincerely have feelings for you. What is your thought?”

Viswa: “See , I am committed. I am sincerely in love with a girl. Now, will you please give me way” and gently left the place and joined with Vijay towards auditorium.

Pavithra never expected such an answer from him and he did not care to wait to see her expressions on her face. Tears filled her eyes waiting to blink to break the water dam in her eyes. She kept seeing the way he left from there.

Though Chakravarthy has come for his daughter’s college occasion, something else was cooking in his mind.He had already discussed that with Nandita’s father and updated him.

 

Episode 4 :

The Auditorium was too big to hold thousands of people. The slots for different departments were provided with Students graduating been provided with the center row of seats and rest of the rows for the parents. Chandrika’s Father and Nandita’s Parents were seated together while Vidhya’s family inclusive of her Father Vasudevan, Vasumathi and her siblings Vinaya & Vimal were seated in the adjacent row.


Though Chakravarthy has come for his daughter’s college occasion, something else was cooking in his mind. He had already discussed that with Nandita’s father and updated him.

The function went through fine and our girls received their convocation certificates from the Chief Guests. While Vidya received hers, Viswa was whistling and Vinaya noticed it. It's an occasion of colours and everyone enjoyed from their end. Chakravarthy felt prestigious for the moment as Chandrika was the first Professional in his family.

Chandrika lost her Mother when she was three and though not interested in re marriage, Chakravathy was forced to get re married by his mother to take care of her. He got remarried to Sivakami who took care of Chandrika until she got her own children. She has that so called fearful respect towards her Mother in law which led her to take care of all the children with equal care and affection. Chakravarthy was a landlord and supposed to be a big shot in the surrounding villages. Almost most of the properties were inherited through his first wife Chandra during their marriage as she was a single daughter. He developed and multiplied them further with his hard work. The worst part of his life was losing her due to some medical issues leaving the 3 Year old Chandrika to him to be taken care of. Though not interested, being a girl child, his mother forced him for re marriage and the beginning years of married life were good because of the care she showed towards Chandrika.

After getting her own children, a boy and Girl (Chiranjeevi and Chaaru latha), her attention towards Chandrika became less and Chakravarthy did not notice assuming his mother taking care of things at home. Due to ageing factor of her Mother in Law and ignorance, Sivakami slowly changed leaving behind her. Her attention was completely on her own children leaving Chandrika behind. But, poor girl was unable to understand certain things and continued to show her affection to her step mother and siblings.


Though Sivakami was prioritizing her children, She did took care of Chandrika too. On a slighter note, Chandrika was more intellectual and studious. She was very good in her academics which developed a jealously towards her and she started to compare her with her own children who were dull in their academics. Most of these were happening behind the woods and it took time for chakravarthy to understand them after the demise of his mother. He has also had an extra care for his elder daughter and ensured that majority of his property would go to Chandrika as they were brought by her Mother.

Sivakami was poisoned by his maternal uncle who had corrupted her mind with various negative thoughts against their family leading to lots of discussion between herself and Chakarvarthy. Chakravarthy always had a soft corner for Chandrika and Sivakami's attitude towards her increased his love towards his elder daughter more. There were some incidents where she created a scene and he decided to put her in boarding school. She was good in her academics and the residential school gave her more exposure and she excelled in her studies. Chakaravarthi ensured he visited her often and she did not find it difficult to have missing a mom in her life. He avoided communicating about his frequent visits to Sivakami and said he visits her once in a month or once in two months. For the love showered by her father to chandrika, he was her whole world. Though she was exposed to the outside world, she was still a child for her father and she always felt secured under him. Sivakami’s children were lovable and affectionate towards their elder sister. Though Chakaravarthy treated them fairly, but it was Sivakami who poisoned their mind with a different thought about their father and elder sister. It was rather the influence of her uncle making her to think that his husband will leave them and they treat her to be a second wife and her children.

Chakravarthy happen to watch his uncle's frequent visits and over heard some talks through his trusted workers. He wanted to ensure that chandrika is safe and beside he ensured she becomes self dependent and she should be able to face and handle any situation in her life. When he was preparing will for the family with his family lawyer, he understood that his own family lawyer was influenced by Sivakami's uncle and discussed about the same with Nandita's Father who was a civil lawyer.

There was a big quarrel with Sivakami when he started to Chandrika's college. Her brother & sister were supposed to join him and because of these issues, he dropped them. Post the function, they started home and all these thoughts were running at the background of his mind and it happened. Chakravarthy held his chest for a different unbearable pain and with the help of Nandita's father, chandrika managed him to take him to nearby hospital emergency care. Yes, it was a Mild attack. Her happiness did not sustain for long time and she was made to wait in the waiting area outside the emergency care.

She felt very lonely that time and realized her father’s words mentioning about her to be self-dependent and face any situation in her life time. She never felt that she had to face such a situation in her life time with her father behind the ICU door seen unconscious and she standing alone in the visitors area. Though Nandita’s father insisted, she wanted to stay in the hospital until he wakes up. Since it was an emergency case, they have to wait till next day and all the necessary tests and checkups were taken. She just had her backpack with just a water bottle, her certificates and her Purse that had the wallet loaded with money and her card loaded with cash by her father. Nandita was leaving to US in the next 3 days and she was helpless and insisted her to call her for anything.

She was left all alone in the waiting area of ICU as there was no room for them. Her face was swollen and dried. She was not sure whether she can call her Chithi (Step mother) for any help. She is anyway not educated and she was worried whether she will create a scene. She did not know anyone who can help her at this juncture. She was hopeless on the next move and kept her legs bent clutching her hands around them and sat on the bench alone in the waiting area. she bend her head on the wall and slept unknowingly.

Episode 5:


Chandrika was left all alone in the waiting area of ICU as there was no room for them. Her face was swollen and dried. She was not sure whether she can call her Chithi (Step mother) for any help. She is anyway not educated and she was worried whether she will create a scene. She did not know anyone who can help her at this juncture. She was hopeless on the next move and kept her legs bent clutching her hands around them and sat on the bench alone in the waiting area. she bend her head on the wall and slept unknowingly.


It was midnight 2 PM and someone woke her up. She realised that she has slept unknowingly and it was a Nurse who gave her a prescription for an Injection to be bought for her Father. She asked whether she is alone and no one has accompanied her. She did not have an answer for that. Chandrika has still not come out of the shock and the happenings around her. She asked as where she would get that and the Nurse advised that it is not available in the hospital pharmacy and she has to go outside to get that from a 24 hour medical shop. Chandrika felt a bit worried and she enquired the nurse as whether there will be some ward boy who can go and get for her. Unfortunately no one was available and she had left with no option to go on her own. She also enquired about the health of her father who was still unconscious and Nurse told her that they can say anything only when the Doctor comes in the morning.


Chandrika went and washed her face. When she looked at the mirror, she could not figure out her own face. Within a day her face had changed a lot, the kajal in her eyes were washed away due to her tears and her face was swollen. Her hair was so untidy. She thought to herself as how happy she was yesterday this time longing for their graduation event, how much happy and enjoyable bird she was and in a couple of hours her life went upside down. She could not blame anyone and thought it was her fates which lead her to a state for no one beside her. She could not stop her friend Nandita too as it is something she was longing for and she has to leave the next day.


She went to the street and walked alone. It was pin drop silence in the street but for barking of some street dogs . Chandrika heart was beating fast as it was a different experience for her to walk alone in that mid night. There was a Tea shop at the end of the street and she could see 2 guys smoking over there. She felt that they looked at her like a secondrate girl and their way of scanning look towards her by one among them. The smoke of their cigar mixed with the discharge from the sodium vapour lamp and made the place gloomy. She went and enquired the Tea shop for the 24 hour medical shop over there and the shop guy guided her to the direction which was about 100 steps from there. She slowly walked holding her bag with a fear on what is going to happen next. Though she made herself confident to be shown outside, she was at the height of fear inside her mind. She went to the medical shop, bought the medicines including the Injection and walked back. She enquired whether he would be able to deliver the medicines again if needed and the medical shop guy agreed for the same. She got his card and walked back to the Hospital.


While approaching the Tea shop, those two guys were finishing their cigars. As she was crying continuously the previous day, she was feeling tired and she requested for a Tea in the shop. She finished the hot tea, got some biscuits and a water bottle and started back to the hospital.


She remembered her father’s words , “Chandu ma , I want you to be brave and face any situation in your life. Whatever happens, you should be ready to accept anything good or bad and take that an experience in your life. You should understand the situation and act accordingly. Dear, I can’t come with you for the whole of your life and I want you to be independent, take your own decisions. Wish I am fine until I join your hands with a good soul.”


While she started to walk, her father’s words echoed in her ears and tears broker from her eyes. She heard some steps approaching towards her in a speed. For a moment, she felt a whooshing sound like some one approaching her and instead of moving, she simply sat down leaving that person to a disappointment of missing her bag. Before she could get up, she found that guy made to fell down by one of the smoking guys she saw in the Tea Shop. The guy planned to snatch her bag, She later found that he got hit by the guy in the Tea shop. The snatching guy understood and in a second was picked by his mate who has come along together in a bike. All things happened in a minute and the Guy who hit the snatcher and his friend came towards her. She understood the situation and started to walk fast towards the hospital. She felt those guys to be following her. She did not know what to do and walked fast and reached the hospital.


Chandu got a bit tensed and approached the Nurse. The lights were switched off and there was just a light near the Nurse cabin and she was half asleep in the table. By then those two guys were at her back and one among them woke her up. He saw the name of the NUrse with her name tag as Sheila and asked , "Sheila, what's this ? "


Sheila, the Nurse woke up and stammered , "Sorry Sir, Just now I finished off with the patients, so went asleep"


Chandu was surprised to see those guys to be addressed as Sir's and she gave the medicines to her. She asked as what for this medicine and Has his father opened his eyes by any chance.


One of the Guys inquired as where the ward boy is? “ Why are you sending girls alone to medical shop. It’s not late night rather mid night? What is the ward boy doing and what else work he has got other than to support such people in the night time?”


Sheila was unable to answer and stammered, “Sir…. Sorry, He was not here. Since you advised for the medicine over phone, and being an emergency, I asked her to go.”

Sheila looked at one of the Guys and he pretended to ask for the case sheet of the patient. Sheila, the Nurse addressed chandu as the attender for the Patient, daughter of Chakaravarthy. She gestured a sigh through her eyes and told Chandrika that “He is Vilas Sir, Madam who has come to see your father”.


Chandu understood that he is the Doctor and he asked her to follow her to his room. He went inside and switched on the lights and brightness permeated the room . He kept his Mobile in the table, refreshed, washed his face when Sheila followed into the room with the Name Board , “Dr. M. Chid Vilas, MBBS, MS, Cardiac Surgeon”. The other guy who accompanied him in the Tea Shop came inside the room along with him, he got the reports from Sheila and explained it to Dr.Chid vilas.


Chandrika was clueless on what is happening. She was able to understand that he is a special doctor who was in charge and has come to his father. She had been told that he will be coming in the morning and they had advised lots of tests for him. They had given a hint that it could be a heart attack and since he fainted, they were unable to check anything with him orally. Moreover, he had high BP when he was admitted and had led to palpitation. Without proper tests, they were unable to detect anything and had taken all tests and waiting for the cardiac specialist to come and attend him. They had given him medicine to bring BP under control so that he gets good sleep and rest to take his case further.

Dr. Chid vilas refreshed and came back and his Mobile which was in vibrating was giving the whooshing sound with the name “Suchi- Terror”. He disconnected and the same number popped up again. Chandu thought whether it would be his wife who is calling him as it was mid night. He was continuously disconnecting the received calls and finally picked it after some time.


Vilas : “Hey, Idiot, I am attending a case, and is this the time you disturb me” and immediately hung the call. There was no further calls after that.

Vilas went through the file while Chandrika was standing outside looking at the face of the doctor. He was damn smart with slight pimples and trimmed beard and of fair complexion and tall. She was shown clear in the room light and chandu looked at his face with lots of questions.

 

Episode 6 :

The Duty Doctor who accompanied him in the Tea Shop updated the condition of chakravarthy to Dr. Vilas. “ He had very high BP when he was admitted and the first aid was provided to reduce and bring it to control. Only after three hours, we could find the reduction of BP. After your advice, We had to give him sedation to reduce that else, it would have led to stroke.”

Chandu who was silently listening to this got shaken by his words. Her mind went on spikes listening to them when he continued further. “ He might be deeply disturbed by some means which lead to the palpitation and further to this state. Though his BP is reduced now, I suspect….”, he stopped and turned to see Chandrika listening to them.


He hesitated for a moment when Vilas , “that’s ok. I understand. Please call that girl”, while Chandrika came inside, his mobile again rang and it was from the same name “Suchi..”. He picked it, “Anything urgent, else please disconnect, we will discuss in the morning. I am currently busy with a case.”


He continued : “Ok, we will discuss in the morning when I come home. Now please go to sleep”, and disconnected the call.


Vilas took the reports of chakravarthy again and started to go through that again. He asked Sheila to call Chandrika and she was made to sit in front of his table.


Vilas : “Madam, what happened actually. Has he got any health constraints already? How old is he ? Has he faced such incidents earlier. ?”


Chandu : “Actually !”, she stammered.

Vilas : “You seems to be disturbed too much. So, no worries, things will be alright soon.”


Chandrika explained the incidents from his purpose of visit to her college and the sudden pain developed for him and how he was brought to the hospital;”


Vilas : “Does your father has any habits like drinking or smoking? Is he a vegetarian or Non vegetarian?”


Chandu : “To my knowledge, he does not have any such habits. I have never seen him smoking too. He rarely eats non veg, but for that he is a disciplined person”


Vilas listened to her keeping his palm kept on his chin.


Vilas :” There is no one to accompany you. You are left alone in the hospital. Are you financially fine to take care of any amount of money if he needs surgery? What are you doing?”, he completed the questions in installment along with review of the report.


Chandu : “ Yeah, This is bad time for us and it happened when he came for my convocation. Yes. I completed my engineering and was staying in hostel. My siblings and mother are in our native town and no one is at present aware of his condition. I am myself don’t know what to do next and was wandering in the hospital all alone. Finance should not be a problem to us.”, she completed it non stop.


Chandrika was all alone in the hospital not knowing what to do and several thoughts were flashing in her mind. Her father’s advices were echoing in her mind and this loneliness taught her a lot. Thought she was left alone when she started her schooling and college outside the house, she had a thing called studies to concentrate on and her father who had not let her down by any means though he was staying at a distance from her. Being a reserved girl with very limited friends, Chandrika had her limitations in her life style. Though she had a good financial background, she has never shown it outside and was staying content. Her focus on studies and time spent with her father and vacation visits to her home town was her time pass. Though her stepmother has insulted her, she has taken things positively and moved with her siblings as her blood bro and sis. Though educated in studies and outside world, this is the time for her explore how the real world is and as a women what all she need to face in this society.


Vilas : “Do you think you can handle things on your won? Tomorrow won’t someone question you for any decisions you take”, this left chandu on tracks. She was silent and gulped some water from her water bottle.


Chandrika knows about her step mom and she will surely find reasons to scold and blame her. She also remembers her brother, who will use this situation to add fire to her thoughts to reflect as words that will pierce her heart. She can manage if Chakravarthy is there and things go beyond the bar, just an eye sight of him will make Sivakami shut her mouth.


Vilas somehow understood her confusion and requested her to sit first for which she immediately sat to give rest to her shaken legs.


Vilas: “Is there any other authority with whom I need to discuss or”, before he could continue Chandrika continued, “You can explain everything to me”.


Dr. Vilas continued, “Things are complicated now. Please make your mind to accept things”


Chandrika’s mind went on tracks and tears burst out from her eyes.


Vilas:” Mam, don’t worry, we can bring back things to normal. We would need your co-operation and finance to proceed further. Let me explain the situation. When he was brought to hospital, he had got very High BP. The same was treated first to be reduced and we went through all the necessary checkups along with Troponin a test to verify whether it is a ….”, he paused and saw her face which showed an anxiety she had.


Vilas continued, “ Yes it is a heart attack, but not a major one. We verified for any blocks and there are blocks seen through the Echo. Since he is unconscious, we want to give a break now and can’t continue with our investigations. We also have found that he has also got a mild stroke too because of high BP with which we can’t proceed with anything. His left leg don’t have much movements. With a further Angio being done, we can do a detailed analysis to identify for any blocks and then proceed for surgery. On top of it, he has to become normal. You would need some one to take care of him near by”.


Chandrika was speechless and she said she would take care and will call her mom and siblings to Chennai to proceed with the treatment. By this time, it was 3.30 AM in the morning and Vilas stood up and started to leave. Before he left the room, he turned to see chandu and said :” Are you sure mam? We will discuss more in detail later. First you take rest and you need energy to fight the battle for your father. No worries, things will be fine soon , but will be a bit slow process. Trust me and Hope you understand”


Chandrika found everything gloomy in front of her. She don’t know where to start and how to start with her step mom and how to proceed further.
