    @Laks09,

    NBC just called Cruz as the projected winner. Heart-breaking. :(

    Ted Cruz carried TX in 2012 winning over a margin of 1.2 million votes out of the 7.5 ish million cast. Today Beto lost by 240,000 votes out of around 8 million votes cast. The last election was a presidential election. We showed up in more numbers than the 2012 presidential election. My county which Cruz won by 70% of the votes last time gave Beto 49% of its votes this year.
    Trump should worry about who will stand for president in 2020. If it is someone not as far left as Beto, TX is 240,000 votes short of turning Blue. My congressional district will be democratic for the next election. The neighboring congressional district went to a democrat who beat the incumbent republican. TX is no longer deep red.

    Cheer up guys. The senate was always a long shot. We got the house. Checks and balances are coming!

    Over a 100 women are headed to Congress, a new record, Colorado has an openly gay governor and we just elected the first Muslim congresswoman. Florida voted to reinstate the voting rights of 1.5 million ex-felons. There is much to celebrate. As Obama said, "One election will not fix everything that needs to be fixed, but it will be a start."

    Demographics are destiny. How long will they fight it? In the end progressives will win. We always do!

    Democrats need to understand that Governor races and state representative and senate races are as important as House, Senate and Presidential elections. This is where gerrymandering begins when President Obama won 2008 Presidential election, the Tea Party movement systematically assembled to capture the state legislators and redistrict crucial contests and the effect of which is felt by the house even today.
    My heart breaks for Beto O'Rourke, Stacy Abrams and Andrew Gillum.

    The positive side is so many young women are seated in the house. Women's right issues will be addressed very well. Healthcare Bill will restore preexisting conditions. Florida needs more migrants from cold weather states in the Northeast.

    If I was heading democrats, I won't touch the following:

    1) Impeachment of the President as it would create sympathy wave to his base

    2) Handle illegal immigration and border petrol with care and diligence as the President has already prepared his base to believe Democrats will be too easy on this

    3) Instead of focusing on blocking the bills, keep introducing record number of bills as people have been very unhappy for years with the Congress for not doing much of legislative work.

    4) Prepare Democratic party to elect a fine man or woman who will unite the Americans and become a very successful President in 2020 by a substantial margin.

    Wow, that was quick. Where did you read? I didn't see it yet.

    Dems have a hard lump to swallow here. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If they go after an impeachment, it will fire the twitler's base for the 2020 elections, if not, they carry out the travesty of justice and their own base throws them out!
