I was listening to this song this morning. The enactment and asymmetric duet between Kamal and Sridevi is artful and pleasing. Sridevi looks cute (wolf-whistle at 0.40) in that marigold-coloured sari. There's something striking about songs in which the thespians don't flamboyantly dress up and twirl around bushes or frolic in plains but rather sit put and warble in conversational tone in their everyday wear. I loved this song. Sharing it here.
She passed away in Feb this year. And much discussion had happened since her death seemed so mysteriously sudden.

And recently there was the news that he had to sell his Nobel medal in an auction to pay his medical bills in USA. Such a lot of strange rules in that country. Double income married people, both with good jobs can pay less in total taxes if they get divorced and become two single people. When one partner in an old married couple gets very sick in old age, the mounting medical bills could wipe out their wealth, and leave the well-spouse, the one who is not sick, the one who survives, totally destitute. Once again, divorce is the prophylactic for this problem. Once divorced, the divorced sick one can deplete his/her portion of the estate in medical costs, become destitute, and be covered by the medical care for the indigent, called Medicaid. here is what a New Jersey legal firm says: If either you or your spouse is facing a long-term serious illness or disability, you probably have a multitude of concerns. Serious health issues are one of the most difficult challenges anyone can face. Mounting health care costs can add worries about the well spouse being left impoverished or children being left without resources. Becoming eligible for Medicaid assistance might help alleviate some of these concerns, but Medicaid eligibility is based on strict criteria that many married couples are not able to meet. In some cases, even happily married spouses consider divorce as a possible tool to help manage the financial burden of a serious health crisis.
I have only recently discovered this liability in marriages. Insurance, debt, bankruptcy etc. Re: the Nobel Prize bid, you might also want to check out the extreme trick of Nobel Prize safeguard, When Nazi Germany occupied Denmark from April 1940, during World War II, de Hevesy dissolved the gold Nobel Prizes medals of Max von Laue and James Franck in aqua regia. During the occupation it was illegal to send gold out of the country, and if Laue and Franck had done so to protect the medals from being stolen, they could have faced prosecution by the Nazis. De Hevesy placed the resulting solution on a shelf in his laboratory at the Niels Bohr Institute. After the war, he returned to find the solution undisturbed and precipitated the gold out of the acid. The Nobel Society then recast the Nobel Prizes using the original gold. Lederman's Nobel streak was in 1988! A joyous picture from that Nobel year.
Don't undermine the competence or the devastation of a wink! That blink of eye is the most intricate expression of colluding minds from Priya Varrier's wink to George Costanza's wink. I prefer the latter hilariously portrayed in a Seinfeld episode. A wink is a presumptuous understanding, I know what you are trying to tell me through that mouth is antithetical to what you are conveying to me from that eye. Trust the eye over the mouth! Re: Bad Engish How about Basi and Company, the popular Nigerian (/African) sitcom from the 80s through which the manky English was resisted? Former Minister of Information and Culture Tony Momoh praised the use of standard English on the show, as opposed to Nigerian Pidgin which remains dominant on television and has been blamed for the poor command of standard English in the country, despite its status as an English-speaking nation, leading to low scores in WAEC and JAMB English examinations. Similarly, Roy Jibromah, a marketing manager for Saro-Wiwa's production company claimed that "children sit glued to the television, with bad English poured down them for four hours a day, [and] they end up with substandard English". Saro-Wiwa stated in an interview in 1987: "We should go for proper English so we can relate to the rest of the world...one reason Basi is so popular is that young people are using it to learn English". Never Mind: You might wonder how Oro has connected bad English to Nigerian drama series. Well, in the past, I stumbled on Nigerian literature here. Achebe and Soyinka are well-known but I heard of Saro-Wiwa for the first time. When I looked him up, I also learnt about Mr B. Basi and Company (also known as Mr. B) was a Nigerian sitcom which ran from 1986 to 1990 on NTA, and was later syndicated across Africa. Written and produced by Ken Saro-Wiwa , the show derived inspiration from African folklore, and lampooned widespread corruption in oil-rich Nigeria while highlighting its consequences. To date, it remains one of Africa's most watched comedy programmes, with an estimated thirty million viewers during its peak
Love this song! Sridevi and Trisha have a common and inspiring drive. Both aged/aging gracefully. I just looked up Trisha's picture and she looks not a wrinkle older since her foray on silver screen.
Re: Wink... yes I had seen that Seinfeld. quite good. Re: earlier Wink... I had gone into an echolalia with wink-wank-wonk.... hence the reference to the subway riders' horror and intimidation. I am sure there is a limeric, if not a whole poem about this threesome. I haven't seen any episodes of basi&co. i will watch it. That song does not link. i will find a workaround.
First, I loved the coinage "cohabitante" in a legitimatery relationship. Second, while you seem to perk up from the first-degree coffee though appear to be coffee-perky whole day, I am peyote all day though I partake none. Means, I am gung-ho and gibber whole day with no inducement. I have realized that chatty brains are self-sustainable. Having finished the stories of Max Carrados, I was searching for another interesting read. Booth Tarkington has been wishlisted in my kindle for years. Time to revive him!
