Yes, I too felt why stick to the job which is hard and had been shown consistently to have many fatalities. There definitely seems to be some reason with regards to their survival. It’s not only in TN it’s an all Indian problem.

There is legislation outlawing this manual scavenging. But there are problems in implementing it.

There are ways where government can implement changes and improve conditions. One such thing is to start from the Indian railways. None can forget the conditions of toilets there.

The public has a very important role in helping overcome this situation just like the government. Public education is foremost.

Don’t worry about putting forth your views here. You have made this monotonous monologue to a dialogue!:beer-toast1:

I just shared a thought provoking issue which is worthy to ponder over. Next time if one looks at these people we would think these things and be more compassionate. It’s a very big issue and will not end unless the society changes.

It is not entirely possible to remove this job sector unless it's automated maybe. I do not know how feasible is that. Until it actually happens, Govt can provide encouraging special allowances or salary bonuses to the cleaners, as this job isn't like any other. Also improve/extend medical support and health care benefits available to them, as they are prone to diseases. Govt officials should routinely inspect if the contractors are paying the right basic pay (+ allowances) to the cleaning workers without looting the money and underpaying them. Same in the case of being issued proper gloves and materials to work with, vaccination etc with no corruptions at any levels. Not too much to ask for I think.
True. We should act responsibly and at the least follow the basic hygiene habits, reducing their burden as much we can.
The important thing the short film points out... To start treating them with respect!
    Thank you.

That’s exactly what will reduce the manual scavenging issues. However it is in the Government hands for buying such expensive equipment which are needed. Anyhow let’s be hopeful.

The following videos discuss the recent judgements.

Enakku innun sariyaaga theriyavillai. But the logics these experts speak seems very reasonable. Indha 497 Sattam vandhadhaal thappu illai endru dhaan thondrukiradhu. Pengal onnum kanavarin sotthu illai. So I agree and I think people are jumping to the extremes of thinking. I have been reading and watching about them.

Also regarding Sabarimala it’s fine for the rule to be there. Whether the females go there is for them to decide. I have been thinking about this judgement as well. But the patriarchal society will take time to take time to digest such sensitive topics judgement. We will be there though and it will become past soon.

Just by such rules alone if one thinks that we had received enough freedom is being naive but it’s a small step in the right direction. One long pending task has been put to an end. So we should welcome, that’s my view now unless someone can persuade me otherwise.

    Sari cinema patri sila seithigal.

We know about the widespread financial issues in cinema field. They are the cause of tragedy and it has been affecting the industry so much. Long ago GV committed suicide due these financiers problem only. Till now nothing has changed.

Watch these videos. Producers should look at these things before producing movies. The recent biggest flop was Seemaraja according these people. Watch their reviews and box office collection. One is in for lots of surprises about the budget cost and financial problems. It’s a lot of struggle for the producers. Mul paadhai dhaan. Yet they continue the production with the hope they will be able to get what they lost in their previous movies and some leave as paupers.

Here are few episodes which discuss same if you hadn’t watched the same.

Will check out the videos, some intial thoughts...
It is one thing to be a producer and another to become a producer instantly after sucess in the field. Chandrababu to Ganja Karupu today. Vendapattavargal soliyum kekama, ethivittavanga pechai ketu... tholaichadhu daan micham, vazhkaiyum serthu. Edhuku?
Neraya chinna budget movies have given hit between 2017-2018, we discussed few in the thread too. Nalla kadhaigalai nambhi padam edukalame? Edhuku periya heroes pinnadi alayanum? Mega budget scene edhuku? Illati, heroes um evolo demand pannuvangala? Avangalku oru salary limit fix pananum, thirundhuvanga. Mudiyathu na book pannadheenga, Vijay Sethupathy ya naama othukala? Ennavo ponga.

Epdi... periya budget, periya hero, periya mass nu poithaan, enniki avengalam namum CM airlam nu ninepula erukaanga pola! Seeman, Sarath Kumar, Rajini, Kamal, Vijay, Vishal..... Karunas varaikkum! Ennanu solla? :smash2:  :mask:

That’s so right! Naama TN arasiyal seithigal padithaal mayakkam varaadha kurai dhaan!:icon_pc:

Exactly! I have no idea why they don’t give importance to stories. Punch dialogues, kadhaiyum illai, eppaparu sandai katchigal..:BangHead:

It’s like lottery ticket and so producers are trying to get their money back by a fruitless endeavour. The recent issues for the release of 96 movie is a classic example though the movie is good.
