    In my mind any dish that starts with Chettinadu has to be delicious, but that stretched the limits of my enunciation! :eek: Now I need tongue physiotherapy! :smash2: We'll call it SK. Now where is my pic?

    I was so touched to get it. Feels so lonely sometimes that we forget the support system we have today. I wonder what parents did back in the day when they didn’t have the support network of moms and dads in the same situation.

    You guys are a part of my pod too you know!

    I also recall some Horlicks ads. Just did a google search, and the bottles are unrecognizable of course. Thanks to wikipedia for some interesting historical tidbits. James and William Horlick, originally from England, got a patent for a malted milk drink in the 1870's in Chicago. Then, James returned to England. Horlicks came to India as soldiers returning from World War I brought it back home. Well-to-do Indian families adopted it as the family drink in the early 1940's.

    In my childhood, after some years, we switched to Boost. Its crystals use to shine sometimes when the sunlight from the kitchen window fell on them.

    So agree. Have believed in this for a while, but recently after traveling on long flights, it has struck me just how exhausting long flights can get as we grow older.

    ratatouille pronunciation - Wiktionary Easy peasy! :D

    I looked it up and Seppankizhangu is Colocasia, or Arbi in Hindi. I'm pretty familiar with it. I usually make it dry roasted or in a yogurt base.

    When NRIs visit, we see that people from the middle east seem less tired, less accented in their speaking, and more like us; but people from America are usually more show offs with the opposites of all of these. And then one day we visit America, and realize it is a tough thing to do.
    After a long long journey, it is also very difficult to look like the photo in the passport, while the foreigner passport examiner is looking at your face, then the photo, and then your face again. Then goes through the steps again. :anguished:
