(Inspired by @periamma's poetry Root) The dark and gnarly roots Hidden deep Mostly unseen Penetrate into The soil, rubble and rock. But without them, Even a great banyan tree Cannot withstand A simple breeze! More than what’s visible outside, What matters is what’s inside. Rise and fly As high as you wish Conquer all that Your heart desires. But without your roots You are nothing Never forget your roots, your anchors. *********************************************************************************
One who has the roots seldom comes back One who doesn’t always wonders One who comes back to the roots hardly gets appreciated
Nice one Geeta! My dad likes to say, "Reach for the stars but keep your feet firmly planted on mother earth. Never forget your origins." Your poem reminded me of his words.
Dear HP, In this world, some acts get instant appreciation and some are taken for granted. Relationships are the most taken for granted and it is also an area where there is always a mismatch between the expectations and the results. Nonetheless, it helps to give an identity and keeps a person grounded.
@GeetaKashyap Well said. We should never forget whom we are? Always we must know how much strength we have and never forget our originality. A kite or a bird which flies high in the air will come down once to regain stability
Your poetry triggered this response in me. Thank you, periamma, for inspiring me. Since I couldn't message you to inform in advance, I went ahead and published. Hope you are not offended. Thanks once again.
