Yesterday night I was lying on the bed and suddenly I felt heaviness on my forehead. Then series of scenes flashed in front of my eyes. A little girl was travelling with her husband to in-laws house. After an hour journey they neared a village surrounded by Palmyrah trees. She was surprised to see the surroundings and was bit worried. Then the car stopped in front of a house and she kept her first step on the earth.
Yes it is a new planet for her as she is entering in a new Avatar dil .Now she remembered the words quoted by Neil Armstrong "That's a small step for a man but a Giant leap for mankind".She named the entry as PROJECT GRAM VAASI .

Then she had a glance of the house and her face became dull as the house was not like the one she imagined. Reading many novels she had imagined a big house with a large courtyard and two Dhinnais(small veranda on both sides of the main entrance of the house. Next a big hall with rooms on both sides and another big hall with verandas on four sides with a open space in the middle where water is kept in big vessels for washing hands after taking food.Following this a kitchen and the backyard with a well and some plants
Novels had a great impact on her to build a dream house but in real it is not like that. Then she entered the house which had long veranda a open space then another veranda and a small hall and a kitchen. There were three houses in a row with the same style and she pacified herself saying"Ok your imagination is not too bad. You thought of a big hall but these three rooms of the three houses give the impression of a big hall.". There was a well at the back of the house and so 50% of her imagination became true.

Another challenge is to take bath as there was no closed bathroom. The next day morning went to the well in the middle of the fields and had a chill bath. Water flowing from a big pump was like shower bath and very big tub full of water flowing from the pump. She didn't imagine a swimming pool and so she was happy seeing the tub and had a nice swim. She liked the fresh water bath, Fresh air and the Pathaneer (a syrup taken from Palm tree). Reached home and was ready to take bf.as she was hungry. But she has to wait for an hour till the elders and kids finish their bf. Now she understood the secret of drinking Pathaneer. She drank only one cup while others have taken more than half a litre. Intake of the drink makes the stomach full and you don't feel hungry. She stayed there for three days and was overwhelmed with the love and affection showered by her Mil and Bils. That love made her as a good dil which she enjoys till today. All of a sudden the scenes vanished and she woke up and found that it was a dream. Now she accepted the Reality with a big grin on her face.

THE HOUSE MAY BE SMALL IN SIZE BUT THOSE IN THE HOUSE HAVE A BIG HEART FILLED WITH LOVE.

i began to accept Reality from that day and still continuing this formula.

Life was so different those days Periamma. Did you spend a lot of time in the village? Life must be tougher but much healthier there than what we 'enjoy' in big cities. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.

    Nicely written , Periamma !
Maybe its not a dream but reminiscence of your early days !

I agree with that wisdom that being in the present and accepting things as they are is the best way for peaceful living.

Simple but wonderful. Reminded me of my mother’s childhood which we heard in bits and pieces.

An extremely nice piece of writing Periamma. This is really the way to look at life.
'To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls
Over stones on it's way' are lines of a song from the movie Sound of Music. This is the best way to go through our life. Sulking is a waste of precious life. I loved this blog!
