    Dear Alpa,
    As you know,
after I am done with my meditation course, ( I did basic course from Art Of Living) I wish to sleep longer than usual. luckily I have a break for this week from school ( I work in a preschool ) . I really enjoy and practise at home this week - 30 min daily. Each day is a new experience and wish to stay there in that state.
physically my activities are down than before. I wake up at 6.00 am in the morning. I do some exercises for 30 min and start doing my duties. Now that I need to fit another 30 min in the morning, I dont know how to manage regular exercises, meditaion, house hold works, my school, kids, husband etc.,
Pls drop in some tricks how do you manage all these with 1 hr of meditation every day ? lucky that you do with your sister. After some months, I wish to join my kid and husband also in this course, because, I want to synchronize my vibrations with the family. I want my family members feel what I experienced. Let them get benefited in life as I am.In our city, they have arranged follow ups for the next 5 weeks , once in a week to work with the teachers from there.
I see the changes around me in a positive way.
Also tell me that should I eat less than before since my activities are on the lower side physically?

I want to let you know that some of my emotions got stirred up nicely during the course and still not completely settled. I am figuring out some specific time and spot for the work to be done daily. I am very much disturbed by small environmental sounds and family circumstances and did not get the full effect as I did that in the course among one of 1000's of people in calm atmosphere. I think the group has more power than individual and environment plays major role. what do you suggest?
I know waking up 5.30 in the morning , will be more ideal for me. finish the exercise and finish the meditation and start the day. but right from the day I practice at home, I wake up aroung 7.00 or 7.30 in the morning. I dont know how to wake up early . my body is wanting for more sleep and I am taking nap in the day time for almost 1 hr. from next week, I cant do this nap.
Also, I have enrolled in evening college for 2 days in a week. will be back home only by 10.30; so, I can go to bed by 11.00 as the earliest. dont know how to manage. pls suggest.
Though sounds silly, I need help in this situation to continue with the work started.

    Dear Sridevi,
i am glad to read your post, these are a few things i do.
    1. i wake up everyday at 4.30am, shower finish my kitchen duties till the cook comes then at 5,30 i sit to pray at 6am i sit for my one hour meditation with my sister till 7am then i start to get ready for work, i have my breakfast at 8am leave for work at around 9.15am., i finish my work and studies by 4pm close office we pick my sister and reach the gym by 5pm after gym i reach home by 6.45pm, shower have dinner by 7.45pm, 8pm watch my program at 8.30 i sit to do my half hour loving kindness meditation at 9pm i finish have my fruit and water, relax for a while and by 10pm i am in bed.

    2. what you can do is during your lunch break can your squeeze in 30mins for your meditation?, what time does your school finish in the afternoon, after that you can sit for 30mins? write down your schedule and see where you can fit your 30mins, before i used to wake up at 4am to meditate for an hour but i was getting tired, and i realised i had so much of time i was wasting watching tv so we decided lets just do it in the evening or at 6am when i come back in the room and its working out so well.

    3. Now coming to your problem, when meditating do not concentrate too much on the outside world focus on what you have to focus, i can now meditate in the car as well with noise. i suggest stop reacting and just let things be the way they are, if a river is flowing in one direction let it flow in that direction do not disturb its flow of direction.

    4. When you are many people you get to feel many energies some are calm, so are negative so are jumpy, but you have started as one and once you do the meditation everyday you will be passing on positive energies and everyday they will increase. your meditation place should one only, do not keep on changing as that place will have lots of energies. These days when i meditate with people i can feel the energies and if i feel a negative energy i will not be able to meditate.
I would strongly suggest that meditate in the morning try to walk up little early and do it in a place where you want your positive energies to flow.

    5. i thing keep in mind, stop reacting, let things be the way they are, start to be aware of yourself, your anger and be aware of what you are saying, you will start seeing the difference.

    6. you have already put an intention of meditating everyday you will get the way on how to manage it on your school nites too, i know it.

    7. Since you are not working out eat a bit less as you are not burning calories. But once you start to work out eat your normal food, but do not deny yourself food, once you will start feeling happy within yourself you will not feel that hungry
i hope i have helped you
    love
    alpa:cheers

    Wow...what a clear explanation.
May be I am a starting bud. need to grow more to have my blossom. wishing to develop my power with in. I can think of you as a model for meditation, work outs, keeping fit both mentally and physically and what not.
I have been thrown away by the deep thoughts coming from with in. rather than my mind, my body is reacting more. I have 2 to 3 days only before I start my routine. todaay, I woke up at 6.00 and practiced some breathing when I lie down before I open my eyes. you know what happened? I slept again in bed for the next 1.5 hrs; woke up at 7.30 only when I hear my son getting ready for school.
I sound funny, but I need to correct this habit. thanks for the help Alpa.

    Hi dear,
I attended the course in Nairobi. But you can log on to www.dhamma.org to look for centers within your area. I am going to sit another course in April this year.
    Regards

    Hi @ALPA,
I have been contemplating on taking up this course, but the fact that one has to maintain so much of silence scares me.

:hello:in this context,(and or in that case) I would suggest the alternative TWIN HEART MEDITATION far easier and no regimen or difficult conditions or need of special environment. @sindmani posted a month before details. this was ancient art re- found and put in practise the world over by an industrialist turned saint CHOA KAK SUI. RESEARCH IN GOOGLE WOULD FLOOD one with lots of info.
    regards and thanks.
    God Bless Us all always.

I have attended their intro session. Their short meditation session was very soothing. Thanks for the suggestion.
