Yesterday was Shivaratri...Shiva was being celebrated with great devotion, dance, music and prayers world over. But Lord Shiva wanted one of his favorite child with Him. He asked our Kamalji to to come. And Kamalji went, to his abode, to Heaven, to his Dancing God.

Yes I know Kamalji, you must be laughing at my words. Because you always laughed at people's fanatic assumptions and beliefs! You have often got me into trouble when I was a moderator for our "Good to Read" forum! You would post atrocious stuff ridiculing blind beliefs, bathroom culture (for want of a better word!) and also about your views on women and how to be and not to be... You have ruffled feathers many a time...And when questioned, you were always clueless as to how and what you said or did that could upset others!!

I have exchanged many messages with you and expressed my thoughts about your snippets, not once did you act difficult or get angry. You have always tried to understand and if you thought you crossed the mark or were in wrong, you readily apologized. That's the quality that endeared me to you. I noticed a certain naivete, impulsiveness and a total absence of effort to be politically correct!

As time passed by, we became good friends and I realized what a gentleman you are and full of good sense, especially where finances were concerned. You have always freely given your sane advises to many both in your blogs and privately too. You too have two daughters like I and know you have been a good man and father to the women in your life and a dear and decent friend.

Even when I have stopped being active in this precious website of Indusladies that gave me so many friends, we continued to keep in touch through Facebook and Whatsapp. The way you handled the fatal cancer, the very harsh treatments and the relative complications was awe inspiring. You never once complained or moaned and groaned. You continued posting those humor filled messages, blogs and kept the conversations going with optimism. We so much so forgot that you were sick, very sick.

Many a time you have told me how you were an ardent fan of Kushwant Singh and how he inspires you. I could very well see KS's influence in your writings. Sad thing is the famous KS lived into his late nineties. But you decided to leave us in a hurry.

Miss you very much dear Kamalji. But you will keep living in our hearts and through your blogs and snippets surely.

Yes, I almost never write a snippet, but you made me to. Don't laugh. :)

Kamla dear awesome tribute to Kamalji. Kamalji must be very happy reading a snippet from you but sad that that you did not write when he was there. Though he is not there he will be wishing all of us good from wherever he is. We can never forget him . He has died on Sivaratri being a good soul.He might not take another janm and in case he takes he will come back and give us humerous snippets but we have to wait for that. May his soul rest in peace.

    Dear Kamalji,

Our loss is the gain for the guy upstairs (in your language) HAHA. You said once that the guy upstairs can take your life away but not your determination to be happy always. I still remember the days when you were first diagnosed with cancer in Mumbai how the doctors used you as a cheer leader for other cancer patients.

According to you, everyone of your friends who left the world must be in hell for sins they had committed and therefore, you said if you went to heaven, you would have no company. It doesn't matter. You are a fine human-being. Let the guy upstairs keep you in heaven and let you make new friends.

Now that you are free from terminal illness, you are allowed to eat as much meat as you like, smoke and drink, my friend. Last time I heard, they serve a very special drink upstairs. The guy upstairs will arrange for you to watch some exotic dances as well. If you like Air-India hostesses, the guy upstairs would arrange a special dance for you. Have fun but don't forget the good time we all had interacting with you.

Kamalji must be regaling people wherever he is. When it is time for us to go (I hope we go to heaven and not to hell, so we get to meet him!), we shall get to enjoy his jokes and fun once again. What a guy! Although we are all very sad, we must remember how he made light of death and be happy. I am sure he would want all of us to enjoy and celebrate his life. His personality was larger than life (or death for that matter) and he can never die. He lives on with all of us in spirit.

KJI is having the last laugh as usual... I guess Shiva and the other Gods and Goddesses were getting quite impatient and wanted KJI to entertain them tooo..
I remember telling KJI why don't you ever use spell check... and he laughed and said.."kya farak parta hain once i write I wait for a short while to make sure I want to post and then I just post it.. never read it before I do so!!"..
Yes his posts sometimes may have been bordering to offensive but if you look at it from his point of view its just being partical.. and as he says.. one doesn't have to comment on the posts...
