I do too. Without the explicit mention of 'education' in the name, threads like 'Let's Fire Up Those Neurons' and the space series wouldn't make sense in this forum. They hardly come under the purview of 'personal growth' as it is commonly understood. I like the current name as is but if we must shorten, then something like 'Learning and Growth' might better encompass the eclectic threads in E&G.

The way I thought about that was that all forms of education leads to “personal growth”. So the space series, neurons, English matters and all education/learning related threads work well in the broad outcome focused name. No?

Learning and Growth misses the “personal” part which seems important.

The label "Personal Growth" is not all-encompassing but vague. While "Education" is factual and uplifting, "Personal Growth" is reflective and emboldening. A combination of both the terms signifies the perfect sentiment of a forum focused on learning.

People traditionally assume that "personal growth" is indicative of motivational speeches, life-affirming stampedes, six-week self-help hacks for better living, and other reflective narratives or intuitive philosophies that lead to a sentient growth, nevertheless, lack the appeal of scholarship. Hence the splice of "Education" into the "Personal Growth" to insinuate that though all the roads lead to personal growth, they better be paved in concrete than gravel. Rather, personal growth induced roundly from playful education.

Also @Jey, don't forget the literal "Education" aspect - people tend to post questions about MS degrees, universities, GREs and whatnot on that forum. It's a logical home for that sort of query.

What?! That too helmless! Even if the forum name is finalized, where's the moderator?

I mean, someone must trick @sokanasanah into accepting that role. I already have a man casing the joint to get his sign for citation petition. Someone else should arrange for a mercenary to crash into his window tonight and force an acceptance out of him. My man for citation petition is casing the East-facing window. The West-facing window is free for spying and further assaults on him.

I just have to concede that the lady who originally came up with the name was so brilliant that it just can't be improved upon. I kept the same name and did the move. I also did some reordering, the details of which you can see here - Changes To Forum Order. Danke folks!

Who was it? Induslady? If so, why isn't she tagged when brilliance is being acknowledged? If not, was it Ansuya? Gauri? We don't really need to know?
