My daughter wrote this poem not for any competition. But I have sent it to a poetry contest and it got published. The title is A MOON`S FOREVER FORTUNE A moon can shine a sliver of light Like it’s too small to be amazing… But with hope coming forth to see. Or it can be big and bold Like it was supposed to be, like it’s been told… Just so perfectly… Or maybe just empty With nothing in the first place; No hope, nothing… Or just at the edge, So close, almost there, at the brink… When it just seems so slow that you may never make it. Or perhaps right at half, some of this, some of that Oh so boring… So average you might never do anything. The moon is just like the world of people… Different fortunes set up for everybody… But nothing exact or perfect; it just keeps changing... Perfect or average or nothing is exact and barely has a chance… The moon for a little time can be atom – wise full or half or blank, It’s three out of infinity… just like anybody.
Awesome Such a lovely philosophical poem and truly high standard for a 11-year old. Congratulations and keep encouraging your child to read/write more.
Thanks so much. At any time if I ask her, she won`t write. It comes as a flow unexpectedly. You know better about writing the poems.
Thank you Mistt. You are right, some times we find it hard to understand her way of thinking. One good trait has positive and negative sides.
