"When the rape track started, the whole nation went into a frenzy. Women’s groups cried ‘shame’. They criticised our glorification of rape. There were law and order situations all over the city. Men felt empowered! Some local political party leader said, “Rape is bad, but the story is good. Maggar is a great crowd puller. We need more people like him in politics..!”

Creative filmmakers called our story ‘A mirror of the society’, while conservative people called our story ‘gross’ and asked for a ban on the story and our newspaper. Creative filmmakers argued bitterly with conservative people over the need for creative freedom. Irrespective of what people said, our sales figures surpassed all our expectations! I had become the most loved and also the most hated writer in the country! People looked for opportunities to slap me or blacken my face to become famous in return!" This is so real! to become famous people will go to any level.

"white looks whiter when placed against black? I set out to write the story with this concept but I ended up making black all-pervading and shrunk white further. I set out to write a story on women’s issues, but…your popularity and the adulation you received was very tempting. I ended up writing sleaze. People also missed the main agenda and they started enjoying sleaze and wanted more and more of it. My own desperation for survival and success blinded me. I have made a big blunder. I should have used my pen and position more responsibly." Good point.

Maggar said with a sigh, “Until and unless our society really learns to cherish its women, Reena cannot win and I will always be the winner.” Geeta, this is the best line in this story.

"Do you think you could add a ‘divine intervention’, ‘spooky twist’ or a ‘Nagin angle’?” He asked with a mischievous grin. Lol! Eccentric!
