My Life Journey With My Special Kid!

Hi supermoms here.. Dis is my first day in IL n my first post too.. My boy is diagnosed with autism at d age of 2.. it was a new thing for us , since he is a first boy in our family, v thought its quite obvious for him to speak late n v do've uncles speaking late both in my side n hubby side..
So even though v went to a therapy centre v stopped it after 10 days thinking everything will be normal..

I was studying at dat time.. After DAT period at his 4 years I finished my studies n came to chennai..
After DAT only I could find not only speech, he had some behaviour issues too..

But no doctor suggested medicine for him.. N told only thing is therapy..

V find a centre after a long search n put him.. But der they keen on money regarding development issues they don't want give any daily updates like wt he did n don't bother about regulating his ADL..

It was a difficult phase n he didn't ve toilet control till then will do where he stands..

Won't come if v called, no response.. Will cry unnecessarily n laughing..
Those issues they dint look. Even I asked they will tel ya he is OK.. He did all wt v asked to do. When I asked wt u tell they won't tell after someday he started saying rhymes like thing I asked him wt was it they told ya v teaching, I ask tell n let me teach at home, no no v will..
So later v stopped..
In d meantime he was in playschool too.. He won't sit in a place ..
Finally v came across SRMC in porur, v did all possible tests for hearing seeing ..
Found no issues at all.
They asked to put in a special school.. V r very hesitant to do so..
I cried d whole day,, later I pacified myself if my kid gonna be good, I've to do this..
We put in d school inside SRMC, last year.. I stayed with him in school whole day.. Even though v r with him in home whole day v can't spent quality time wit him, coz our works won't allow to do so.. But in school no other way, v ve to spend with him only, . with d due support of teachers n other parents v both settled the,, i t is a wonderful place
Thank god.. V finally got inside a place where I can c my kid improve

He is sitting now, responding to his name, telling his name, writing..
I never thought in a 1 year he will do dis much things..
Now his second year in DAT school he graduated to next level called preprimary WHR he need to be alone wout me n follow d instructions from teacher like normal school.. He is quite OK now..

I'm pregnant with my second kid now.. He notices the change in me n telling papa at times.. Hopin my second kid will help my dear son to be normal soon..

Regarding his writing, he write whatever ever I taught him in card like his name n some basic words Amma in Tamil, even though those individual letters i have not taught.
When asked his teacher they told high function autism , is that anything like that if there na do I need to worry lot r can I get through this, please let me know.

 

Happy new year to everyone! My kid is doing good, his attention is lot better nowadays. Yes I accept the 'FOOD' plays major role in everything. More home food is better with my kid.


@Mathima Each kid is different under autism. If you have any specific questions about your kid's behavior or any other area please feel free to ask here. Since he's HF as a mom you should know already if anything need to be overlooked. Enjoy your second pregnancy, have positive vibes and eat healthy food.

Hi meghna.. Thanks for ur thoughts..
Wt does HF means,, in wt other ways I can confirm he has HF autism, apart from writing

 

Did you go to neurologist or psychologist and evaluated your son? HF means high functioning I wrote it in short form.

Better do evaluation with professional people so that you get a report which explains your son's current level.
